Professor Dave, you have to be one of, if not my number one, favorite channel on KZbin. Unlike some others, I haven't specifically used your videos to pass courses or achieve similar academic success, but rather, as a huge fan of science, it is my utmost pleasure to watch your academic tutorials simply to expand my knowledge and understand more about the world I reside in. You are an excellent teacher; your videos are marvelous at breaking down complex concepts and maximizing the degree to which those concepts can be simply understood by even the average layperson. Meanwhile, your debunks are extremely entertaining to watch and are a very respectable and dare I say successful effort to increase public scientific literacy by exposing the grifters and charlatans that are gaining an unfortunate amount of influence in the modern world. Your channel has inspired me to great lengths and I'm so glad someone like you exists, a man who is willing to put this much work into educating the world. Thank you.

I missed the request to send in videos on how your channel has helped me. I wanted to share here. 3 years ago I was a YEC and a conspiracy theorist. You have played the largest role in my conversion. Today I'm a theistic evolutionist. I accept all aspects of science. You may remember during the James Tour saga, you clipped one of my comments to show in your post debate response. In that comment, I had said I was very disappointed in James Tour, but didn't agree with abiogenesis. I have since come to agree with abiogenesis because of your content. While still religious, I have totally shifted how I approach my faith. This shift has also led to me disregarding all conspiracy theories. These shifts in beliefs have drastically changed my life for the better. My overall approach has changed. I now look at studies and experts when making a decision about my health. You helped me shake my anti establishment bias. Water is a good example. Your water series made me realize floride is good. I also check my local water report to see the science behind my water quality instead of being scared for no reason/making unnecessary purchases. That same logic extends to all aspects of my life. Basically you totally changed my life for the better. And the ripple effect of that has positively changed the life of my family. You have had a bigger positive impact on my life than any other KZbinr. The platform will not be the same when you retire. Thank you!

You and I have had a similar journey! I started out as a YEC conspiracy theorist as well and am now pretty much a theistic evolutionist. Prof Dave has helped me become more open to the scientific community and become less anti-establishment. Always happy to see we aren't alone :)

The Terrence Howard debunk brought in a lot of new viewers... I would be one of those people, only I've devoured so much of your content since then that I actually forgot it was the first video I saw here. I love this channel to bits. I'm a humanities nerd who never took chem or physics in high school, partially because I knew my blindness would make them more difficult than I thought I could handle at the time. I'm so glad to be able to catch up even a little, and I was particularly inspired by the astronomy series. I love the 1-2 punch of tutorials and debunks here - so many other creators will do one or the other but not both. The debunks are priceless and I often rewatch them for a review or just a laugh. Thanks Dave! P.S.: Your reaction to the genocide was so reassuring to me as a Jewish person very opposed to what Israel does, purportedly in our name. It has shattered many young Jews' sense of community, and I can think of no greater shame on our history and our honor. Your comparison to humanity's failing during the Holocaust also neutralizes any accusation of antisemitism. So we may have lost our faith in humanity, but there are people who think the same way, and this does give me hope.

Thanks for sharing all of this content for free with us Dave. It really has been a wonderful past few years for me watching this channel, and I'm glad to have discovered it. I came out of the Atheist/skeptic side of KZbin from way back in the day, so I don't necessarily use this for academic purposes, but I find the content enriching nonetheless (as others have expressed). When I had found your channel, I was in the midst of starting to really give up on KZbin to be honest. All of the political and identity politics focused content really started to grate on me, as it even seeped onto channels I liked before. It was really starting to feel like valuable discussion and intellectual content was starting to slip through the cracks on this site. Gone to be replaced with exclusively reactionary and "debate bro" content, rather than focused on sharing and discussing facts and information. This channel was a real breath of fresh air, and still is. Here's to the next ten years!

Congratz Dave! I do have 2 quick comments! First, I think one channel that should have gone into your top 10 was definitely Formscapes. That video is very much exceptional work and I think it perfectly highlights what pseudo-intellectuals really are; apologists and frauds. "Science isn't dogma, you're just stupid." is one for the books! Second, "Mr. Farina!" is going to make the science history books. I still talk with a few of my high school teachers, one who is a Chemistry teacher. I learned that she now has classroom memes on posters about James Tour, one such including the "ZERO!" meme. I asked her if she ever tells her students who James is, and she replied "No, most of them are already aware." Keep in mind, this is in Canada, so this has spread far! Half the world knows who James is now, and the infamy he will live with for the rest of his life will haunt him. Remember when you said in the 4th part of your 2nd series that you wanted all his followers to know what a fraud he is too? Well, his viewership went from a solid 150-200k per video to a whopping 15k avg. Looking at the comments of any video of his are all just ultra-devoted Christians. I think it is safe to say that James is dead, and you murdered him.

I've been watching you for a bit over 2 years now and have been a huge fan ever since, as you probably noticed. I grew up in a largely predominant conservative Christian household and you've gotten me out of the strangehold of religion, especially Young Earth Creationism, especially your recently released "defenitive guide to debunking all creationists". My grandparents were extremely conservative Young Earth Creationists and this Christmas, they actually began to start to come to the side of reason and no longer believe in a Young Earth, all thanks to you. Even some sections of my school were descending into Young Earth creation propaganda and I was able to quickly put a stop to that thanks to your videos humilating the Discovery Institute and James Tour. Thank you so much for everything you've done in the realm of debunking, as well as getting I myself through the remaining years of High School. I'm now 18 and going off to College where I will continue to use your tutorials as a guide. I can't wait to see what you have planned in the future!

Being a fan since 2016 and having you help me get a Master's degree and start a new career in Astronomy, I loved seeing the history of the channel. As I mentioned before, I enjoy all your science education videos much more than the debunking videos, but now better understand why you do it and the importance of it in today's mixed up world where data, facts, and the real truth are so undervalued. Since all the power junkies and scammers are now using KZbin and other social media platforms to suck people into their alternate realities to gain power and make money, we need people like you to fight fire with fire and help save humanity from the continued weaponization of its own technology one video at a time! Just another example of the power junkies turning knowledge and technology meant to help humanity into weapons of control and potential mass destruction. I especially loved your closing message and want to re-watch the astronomy series when I have time after I get my current paper on exoplanet formation past peer review. It was that type of thinking that inspired me to learn more on how the universe really works and how we made the many discoveries to know all that. I've been a Patreon supporter for years and I'm currently watching your Ancient History and Archeology series so keep up the good work!

thats so funny, other than italian immigrants, your religious situation growing up is just like mine, even down to knowing your dad is an athiest and not really knowing whether your mom believes in god or not. Thx for all the vids man

Thank you for all that you’ve done on this channel. You’ve managed to help me consolidate my physics knowledge, while also providing entertaining videos like the debunks which i always come back to binge. i don’t think there’s many other channels that provide both of those things with such quality.

Congratulations, and FYI, your explanation helped me get through my uni courses (especially those chemistry lectures) a few years back, so a big THANK YOU :)

Massive congrats on 10 years and 3.5M subs! I found the channel through the Globebusters debunks and I do love the debunking content but, even though I'm not in college anymore, I am a lifelong learner so I poured through all your astronomy, physics, biology and immunology stuff since those are favorite fields of mine. Keep up the great work!

congrats, dave! i've been following along with your tutorials and debunks for so long that it feels like i've grown as a curious individual alongside you. i'm so appreciative of the work you do and thankful for the peek behind the curtain. hope you and yours are doing well these days, and here's to ten more years! side note, i can't even escape sequel hate on the most rational part of youtube LMAO
