Unwound Future’s ending is absolutely heartwrenching, but sometimes it feels that people tend to forget the beauty of Diabolical Box’s ending.
@floralreads36014 жыл бұрын
honestly, I think diabolical box is very beautiful, although most people say it's one of the weakest in the franchise, it had such a enchanting melancholy atmosphere and an amazing soundtrack... not to mention how emotional the ending was. it makes me nostalgic for when the professor and luke's adventures were about inheritance disputes and magical boxes, so simple and yet so beautiful. no 3d graphics or complicated plots, just far fetched reveals that somehow made sense in my young mind.

@@professorgrimm4602 I just love this song from the old game on my old DS even though I didn’t know that it had a lyric like Anton’s ex-wife singing before she’s dead in the last year, but I wonder who’s Katia’s mom and Sophia’s daughter.

It's hard to put into words how brilliant Professor Layton is. You stay up til all hours of the night, obsessing over that puzzle you need to beat to progress with the amazing story. The DS is the only light in your room, entrancing you with it's glare and the hypnotic puzzle music. After hours, it finally clicks, you twiddle your imaginary top hat and contentedly hit Submit. And then you're wrong. You swear alot and stab the screen furiously for it to hurry up and let you try again. I love it.

Ten years later, at 21 years old, I just finished it after finding that the trilogy had been converted to App form. I cried at the end. Not a loud cry, or a sad cry, like I have with shows or other games. Just sat back and let the tears roll. Professor Layton has always been a happy place for me...

A couple years later I found Curious Village in my garage and played that for the first time, realizing that that was the first. A couple months ago I bought the original trilogy for mobile and now I’ve got unwound future under my belt. Can’t wait to play the original trilogy and now New World of Steam. This franchise is very special to me.

Although Unwound Future had the saddest ending, I gotta say, the combination of an extremely endearing moral of the story and the heartwarming moments made Diabolical Box's ending very memorable. Also, SPOILER ALERT! Has anyone noticed that the three games in the Trilogies follow the same ending structures? First game: Someone leaving their hometown for adventure, Second Game: A heartwarming reunion of two people very close to each other and Third Game: A heartbreaking goodbye.

In the DS trilogy, Diabolical box made me cry more than Unwound future. Unwound Future was sad is my favorite game in the trilogy. But in terms of endings, DB made me cry. If you've read the small lore or the diaries during your playthrough, the buildup to the twist was well done (even if the twist is a bit farfetched). Sophia and Anton's story was so sweet. Unwound Future was actually my first game but DB's ending was just so bittersweet to me.

It's funny, because I never really had any friends. They would call themselves my friends but would bully me and neglect me. I played this game and heard this piece, not knowing that years later, I would finally find a close friend and other friends that would truly care about me. My close friend plays the accordion and I play violin. The fact that the accordion and violin play parts of the piece individually in the first part of the piece mirrors how we each individually lived our lives before knowing each other. Then, just as the accordion (and cello, he also plays cello) and violin parts meet at the end, our paths crossed in the end.

Probably the most satisfying "The End" theme I've ever heard in my life. It just carries such incredible happiness and satisfaction. Nearly brought me to tears the first time I heard it without the goofy credits sequence. P.S. Also it kinda reminds me of Fairy Tail, especially starting at 2:13

that's true. i replayed and the nostalgia hit me hard. I'd recommend replaying, it's a comfort to know that the professor and luke and flora and everyone are still there, waiting for you with their puzzles. plus, the game's soundtrack and artwork is really beautiful.

My friends thinks i'm weird cuz i think that these games are the best games ever created on any console but they are just so good. I always get the feels when I listen to music like this and I love the way in each game the ending is unexpectant and really FREAKIN SAD!! It may seem weird but I cried at the ending of some of the games. Especially the lost future. XD

that happened to me a few months ago. i was obsessed with professor layton from the ages of 7 to 9 and then I just stopped playing on my ds as I got older, and i tidied it away somewhere when i moved house. then i found it again a few months ago and fell completely back in love, and replayed all the games, so good god the nostalgia hit me hard. but they're such beautifully crafted games, from the artwork, to the puzzles, to the soundtrack, and those characters we grew to love as children who are still waiting when we get back to them. professor layton is honestly one of the most things to me, and I hold it close to my heart. 💓

To me this is the greatest game series I've ever played. So well written and crafted. Back when we were poor this was my only Christmas gift. My mom didn't even buy it she got it with fidelity points at a supermarket. This was truly a blessing in disguise. I think Pandora box is my favorite because of sentimental value.

This song brings back so many mermaids. Every game made my love for this game stronger and stronger. First it started with a curious village, then a box, and then an unwound future. Professor Layton is arguable the best game to troll with your emotions. These games made who I am today and I’m so blessed to have been able to play these games. I remember begging my sister to try and help me figure out puzzles and getting frustrated. God bless you Professor Layton❤️

God bless layton 💞 he truly improved my life; discovering the games was one of the best things in my life. the tears still fall after years and years, with the memories of childhood and the happiness of innocence - not having to worry about anything, just whether layton would solve his mystery. i really do appreciate the games.

The song has a special place in my heart. It reminds me of the last summer I spent in Minnesota before we moved. For some reason, this song reminds me of all the wonderful memories I had back then. It's amazing of how listening to music you used to can unlock the feelings of your past, isn't it? : )
@floralreads36014 жыл бұрын
It really is, just like Anton unlocked the memories of his past with Sophia. I think this game brings back memories of holidays and family for lots of people, because we all played it as children on holiday, when everything was more simple and there was nothing to worry about. Nostalgia at its finest.
@jakethegamergamingvideosda99627 жыл бұрын
The nostalgia really kicks in when I hear this song. It reminds of some of the ridiculous puzzles that I eventually managed to solve (with help because I'm such a dumbass) and beating my first Professor Layton game and crying because of the emotional ending and the music really didn't help me hold back the tears. This is also my favourite Professor Layton game. I still love the other games but Pandora's Box really stands out for me. I'm just so sad that they have stopped making Professor Layton games T-T...
@pennypecpec32887 жыл бұрын
Huehueh. Me too. When I was like, what, 7 I somehow (like, seriously, how was I THAT smart?) was able to go through the whole game. Must've had a ton of hint coins. And that ending. That ending. When I finished it, I literally began tearing up. This is the only series that made me cry. In the unwound future, after playing it like 50000 times, it somehow made me cry again...hypocritical...
@jakethegamergamingvideosda99627 жыл бұрын
+Penny Pecpec Yeah, people who are madly in love with each other and just knowing that it is never possible to be reunited really disheartens me. Also, love misunderstandings are like that too. Anton and Sophia are a perfect couple and they should've been together until the very end. I just hope my future relationship doesn't end up like that. Whew! Feelings ●~●

The soundtrack had no business in going this hard for a kid's puzzle game. Iris & and the Main themes of Pandora's box and Unwound Future were absolute bangers.

This was my first game in the series. I got it accidentally, because when i was around 8 or 9 I sent my faulty DSi to the store to be fixed and when i got it back, a copy of Professor Layton and Pandora's Box had been put inside the console. I tried it out and was instantly hooked by the extremely spooky plot of Andrew Schrader's death. Since then I've played through every game in this series wayyyy too many times. I haven't gotten my hands on the Lady Layton game as i was a little bit disappointed that the professor was gone. The original trilogy is my favourite by far, although i still have a sweet spot for The Spectre's Call. All i can think of when Pandora's Box comes to mind is that god damned mushroom puzzle which i couldn't figure out at all and forced me to drop the game for a while back when i was still quite young...

Curious village was extremely light hearted and didnt dwell too much on the emotional aspects of the story. Pandoras box just threw that straight out of the window with a painfully heartbreaking conclusion. Lost future had the jaunty story of Curious village with the sad ending of Pandoras Box. Spectre's Call was a bit 'out there' in terms of story, but the backstory provided for all the characters makes it amazing to play.
