Professor Maithree Wickramasinghe-Sri Lankan Professor of English Founding Director- IWC 2014

Maithree Wickramasinghe (PhD.) is Professor and Head of the Department of English, and the founding Director of the Centre for Gender Studies at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. Professor Wickramasinghe counts over twenty years of experience as a gender expert in formulating gender mainstreaming polices, conducting gender trainings and evaluating women's and gender programs for local and international organisations including the ILO, the Association of Commonwealth Universities and Practical Action. She has also addressed plenaries and delivered keynotes in the US, Spain, India, Pakistan, Singapore, South Korea, Kenya and China.
