He raised it as a discussion topic. Surely that is okay as she would be given the opportunity to respond. There are no sacred cows. Why should she determine the line of questioning and why should she be given a line of questioning to enable her to feel good about herself. Your bias is obvious. She should have taken the opportunity to show how charming she is and answer cleverly which would convert her detractors but instead she tried to talk him down and get him to back off.
@benjaminsmart6276 Жыл бұрын
Completely disagree. JJ was doing his job as a journalist, and Phakeng failed to respond to the accusations, preferring weak ad hominem attacks on the interviewer. A good glimpse at why she is no longer a VC.

@nellyt8540 Жыл бұрын
If he was just doing his job, he did it badly!! Why would he say something that negative and want to go to advertisements? You don't do that unless you just want to be controversial and not really have a genuine conversation. Of course, reputation is important, and if someone attacks your reputation on a national platform, then you have to defend it. JJ could have handled this better. Controversy does not always increase ratings. Sometimes, it could be that one thing that kills your show.

Both quite unprofessional and immature. I guess public persons need to be able to take others opinions with a pinch of salt and not be too touched if some views and comments are negative. Both should just have handled themselves better - I guess they each identified with a bit of truth in the public views made about them.

@@nzimadmz7131 I worked at UCT, and resigned because of her bullying behaviour. You people just speak from what you see not from what you've experienced. I know Mamokgethi on a personal interaction level, ever since she was appointed as the VC of UCT, she adopted this behaviour of thinking she is above everyone and only looked good for publicity purposes.
