Kellogg Community College English Professor Ronald E. Davis reads the words of the College's first-ever alma mater, an original composition titled "Alma Mater KCC," before the song's world premiere at the annual "Singing in the Spring" concert on April 21, 2024, at First Presbyterian Church in downtown Battle Creek, Michigan.
Lyrics:
Beautiful from the hill you shine,
Alma mater, KCC.
Nourishing each generation,
Alma mater, KCC.
We sing in praise to thee,
Beacon of hope, KCC.
Great chorale loved far and wide,
One family in humble pride.
Educate in service to community,
Alma mater, KCC.
Whether island or peninsula,
Landlocked we’re unchanged.
Faithfully honoring right and true,
Alma mater, KCC.
With sound mind we proclaim,
For alma mater, KCC.
When life’s dreams at last unfold,
That wellspring of blue and gray,
Loyal scholars we march on,
Alma mater, KCC.
(Words by Ronald E. Davis, music composed by Dr. Gerald J. Case-Blanchard, arranged by Dr. Mark Wells)
