I have a mild learning disorder, I think quickly but often don't retain things well or comprehend them enough to learn right away the first time. This is just enough but not too short to get the point and not long and drawn out so that people lose their attention like when I'm rambling on haha! 0:15 There're 3 states of matter that're common knowledge. I've heard about two more (plasma in stars and and atomic pasta [I think that's the name in English? It's "pâtes atomiques" in French] below the crust of neutron stars [they're referred to as gnotti, spaghetti, lasagna, etc and no I'm not joking, look it up]) and know there're theories/hypotheses for many more like strange matter which could/would be the state of matter in the core of neutron stars 🤷♂️.

@louisrobitaille581017 күн бұрын
@@Avayatt Yep. I also recently learned about a new type of matter from Kurzgesagt's video about the Gravastars. It's so recent and so weird that it doesn't even have a name yet afaik. It's the ultimate form of "matter" in terms of toughness. (It's not really matter because matter is made of atoms and his "matter" would basically be made of vacuum energy or quantum fields themselves.)

The particles in a solid DO move. They can vibrate where as liquid can vibrate and rotate and a gas can vibrate rotate and translate. The ONLY time when particles would be described as NOT moving is absolute zero (0 Kelvin) which Kelvin used extrapolation to find. It has not been proved to be real but all available data supports it. No hate whatsoever just wanted to put that out there.
@ProfessorDaveExplains8 жыл бұрын
yep, it's a bit of an oversimplification. better to let students learn about vibrational states later on and at first just say that they have no motion with respect to one another to get across the concept of lattice structure.
