Professor Leonard is my go to man. I now consider him more of my teacher than my actual professor. I go to class to take a few notes and absorb what he has to say, then come home and watch my real lecture on KZbin, sometimes hours after another. Thanks for helping all of us.

You dont know how much you mean to me. Today the love and passion I have towards mathematics is just because of you. I always like to visit your old lectures again and again. Your sense of humour is just awesome😂😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. Love from India.

@37:20 the curve should have a knee at x-intercept x=2 before going downwards because of the cube power of (x-2)^3.

You are a phenomenal teacher. Your videos were a life saver in math classes with subpar teachers who always made everything sound more complicated than it actually was. Your videos not only helped me understand the concepts, but caused me to develop a love for math.

In general, for all (x+a)^k where k=odd number not equal to 1, the curve will has a knee before crossing at that x-intercept. The curve will only cross the x-intercept when k=1. When k=even number, the curve always bounce back at that x-intercept.

Professor Leonard, thank you for another outstanding lecture on how to sketch the graph of a polynomial function with x, y intercepts, multiplicity and the end behavior. Graphing complex polynomials is easy to understand with solid repetition.

for f(x)=x^2(x-3) the confusion about x=0 point can be solved by considering the Turning Points, as this function has got 2 TPs there is no other possibility of approaching from above x axis and then take downward turn and then upward to x =0 and bouncing back, again turning upwards to reach x=3 where it crosses x axis... that means total 4 TPs..... so we can also use Turning Pts to avoid these types of confusions..... Please correct me if it is wrong...

I have finished all of the math courses on this channel, but I have literally been watching every single playlist up to this video the last several months at 1.5 speed just to rediscover things that I have forgotten. 8-) I started with "Prealgebra", then "To The Point Math (TTP Videos)" then "Intermediate Algebra", and now I am rewatching this playlist.
@rosepierce9382 Жыл бұрын
@@Peter_1986 I have that problem too. I watch some videos and like a couple months later, I forget all of it. So that's why I am actively taking notes this time, so I can review them later. How do you deal with this? Do you know where I can get some pre-written notes? It'd save a lot of time for me.

The graph for f(x)=-2(x+2)(x-2)^3 is still slightly inaccurate. The graph should being flattening out a bit around the point (2,0). The reason is that as your multiplicity (even or odd) grows (for example 1->3->5), the graph tends to flatten (not completely) out more and more around that particular x-intercept.

5:30 it took me way longer than 10 minutes 🤣 just under 27 minutes, but I didn't make any errors at least, if you distribute the function you get the following: h(x )= -2x^10 - 12x^9 + (51/2)x^8 + (795/2)x^7 + 2403x^6 + 11103x^5 + (62899/2)x^4 + (136539/2)x^3 + 122130x^2 + 83592x + 18144
