Funny story. I graduated HS in 1986 and I LOVED this song by the Moody Blues. My friends hated it so I had to appreciate it in secret. Anyway, in 1985 my true love broke my heart when she left me for another guy. I spent decades, literally, wondering what happened to her, since after HS friends scatter like leaves in the wind. Anyway, we reconnected in 24 years later, and now have been married 15 years. It’s been utter bliss for both of us and we recognize that we never would have been mature enough to make it work had we not grown up in the intervening years. When we reconnected she was living in CA and I was in TX and within 1 week she knew she was moving to TX to be with me. So from my standpoint sometimes it does in fact pay to search out that lost love, as long as you are both mature and realistic enough to see one another for who you each have become. Thanks, Professor!! 🙏

Wow! For a moment I thought I was reading my past. In 1983 I stupidly broke off my relationship with college my girlfriend just to quickly marry someone who would have been better suited for someone else. Despite that I couldn't get that first girl out of my mind. When "In Your Wildest Dreams" came out I adopted it and used it as inspiration to search for her. I finally found her again after 23 years. After two months we moved in together. One year after reuniting we were married and have been for the last 17 years.

I tried to turn my Mom on to the Moody Blues back in the 70s, and she kind of "half listened" and didn't say much. Then, when she was in her early 80s (age wise), all of a sudden she was totally in love with the Moody Blues, and talking to me as if they were a totally new band, and as if I had never heard of them before. She requested that we play "Watching and Waiting" after she died, which we did. She's been gone 2 years now.

She was 13 at time of move and I was 15. This was back in the Golden years of 1970's. I am now 70 years old and have never given up on finding her alive or dead. The video for Forever Man frustrated me, and it still does. A good portion of it is the boom camera truck pulling in and out of the studio. The camera is always moving. You're doing great work on this channel, Adam. I love rediscovering these hits. I have to be honest, I never would have expected Clapton to appear on a list like this -- I used to be a massive fan of his but his early/mid 80s stuff isn't exactly his best (although still better than the abomination that was Pilgrim). Forever Man was a catchy tune which seemed to be all chorus with no verse, with a searing guitar solo. It was also one of the last times we got to hear him using his guitar "Blackie" before it was retired.

She was the first girl I ever had some serious sex with , almost daily and she had a very VERY peculiar habit . Right after we “ uncoupled “ she would grab an 8 oz bottle of Coca -Cola and “ douche “ with it , Coke streaming out and down her thighs after putting her thumb over the top / shaking bottle / inserting you know where & then letting go …… first time she did that after I had just finished I was like WTF???? She explained it was passed down from her grandmother to her mother & then to her that Coke killed the sperm & she wouldn’t get pregnant…..😳. Who was I to argue as it seemed to work for the time we were together , but I knew I didn’t want to get married right out of high school & soon after graduation we parted ways ….. 10 years later I went to my H.S. Reunion and Low & behold there she is , and we get to chatting . Seems she had married another man and shortly afterwards had popped out not one , but 3 kids in a row in about a year & a half span between each one & was actually pregnant with #4 at the reunion !! Incredibly I asked her “ What the Hell did you do , switch from Coke to Pepsi ?? “. She didn’t appreciate that at ALL for some strange reason ….😳😏😆😉🤣. TRUE STORY . She had also put on a bit of weight like another’s comment here & I had same “ did you eat the old girlfriend “ thoughts as well …. Yeah , I’m going straight to HELL …. 😁

I agree 100% about Something About You. I used to hear this on the radio all the time and it was always the song between others so the DJ never said what it was. This was before the internet, much less Shazam, my parents banned MTV in my house, and I couldn't sing worth a damn- so I was left for about 15 years loving the song and never figuring out who sang it. Finally, when I was a little older on a trip with my church's Youth Pastor, he asked if I've ever heard of Level 42. I said No so he said "you're a musician so you'll love em." Three tracks in Something About You came on and I lost my shit! I felt like so many did after figuring out who FEX was(IYKYK). Ever since then, I've had it on heavy rotation.

Yeah, I found my old flame, she should have stayed lost. "Be careful what you wish for," is a profound adage. This woman had developed severe addictions and mental illnesses from the last time I saw her. BPD, TRIPOLAR, SCHIZOID!!! I'm still trying to get my house back after she moved in and took it over. Old flames are best left to nice music videos & ROM-COMs. 😊

If you guys didn't notice, The video for "Forever Man" features a lot of talented musicians which includes Dean Parks, Michael Omartian, the Late Great Jeff Porcaro, Marcy Levy (Marcella Detroit from Siobhan Fahey's group Shakespears Sister) and Yvonne Ellman, And speaking Shakesspears Sister, you should do something on them and their song "Stay" that might be something interesting to document, since Marcy was a backup singer prior to the formation of the duo.
@davidkenner-rb8go15 сағат бұрын
Marcy Levy even co-wrote "Lay Down Sally" if I'm not mistaken.

@@FenellaBeach Okay, Thanks for the Correction. Years ago, When I was on Wikipedia, I saw those names that I mentioned above listed there. This is why I dislike Wikipedia (and get upset at people quoting Wikipedia in the comment section or whatever) Wikipedia is a site where people can edit and put their own info there (and how you know it's reliable if they have a source to hence numbers. If there's no source for it, there will be no links or "citation needed") There was a Teen News Show I watched when I was young where a student did his homework and got his info off Wikipedia and the teacher got upset at that because people can put out their own info on Wikipedia, so it can't be reliable

I’d like the 80s Moody blues but nothing beats the 60s and 70s version of the group with Mike Pinder on mellotron….It was that instrument that made the group special and unlike any other band on earth.

All five of these bands are really darn good especially the Moody Blues in the 80's also with Phil Collins, Bryan Adams, Eric Clapton and Level 42 all which I've heard on the radio and of course on MTV and VH1 during the 80's and I've been watching a lot of videos from the 80's during my days in high school from 80 to 83 thanks again for the memories of music from the 60's to the 80's Professor.🎶🎶📻📻🎶🎶

This one I will check out later, but I do have a list of other artists I never hear on radio anymore (at least here in Canada) Ambrosia, Paul Davis, Dan Fogelberg (there is at least one station here called 107.9 Community radio that played Fogelberg and Davis, but really it) Firefall, Stacy Lattisaw, Some of America's other songs (the only one I keep hearing is "Sister Golden Hair") Eddie Money (the only songs I Keep hearing on radio is "Baby Hold On" "Two Tickets to Paradise" and "Take Me Home Tonight") Pat Benatar (Again, the only songs I hear of her are "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" "Love Is a Battlefield" and "We Belong") ELO (Again, the only ones I hear are "Evil Woman" and "Don't Bring Me Down") Phil Seymour (Remember his song "Precious to Me") Atlanta Rhythm Section, .38 Special's other songs (I Keep hearing "Back Where You Belong") Peabo Bryson, Jeffrey Osborne etc. The list will go on, but those are people I never hear on the radio, at least over here. Funny enough, Bryan Adams "Run to You" is still played over here in Canada a lot

"Something About You" and "Tuff Enuff" have strong memories for me.... it was my senior year of high school and I specifically remember those songs from all the times we heard them while we were in the gym lifting weights. And yeah, "Something About You" has some amazing bass guitar work in it... great song.
