when you have the slave number (e.g 3) , it is up to your creativity to select an alarm or a nice automation system structure then marking the failed slave.

Thanks for your message, First you need to have the module with diagnostic capabilities.Then , You can use OB82 for checking internal failures and OB83 for removing /inserting modules. Check the online help of STEP 7 or TIA Portal for more information.

Hello very informative and thank you for sharing could you please tell how to store the last error state if error occurred only for few seconds and restore itself. How to know which station had a problem if it comes only for a second or two in a month or a week? I'm having an issue of plc going into stop mode..!!
