Profishiency MICRO Pocket Combo | Tiny But Mighty!

What's up anglers! If you know Texas Rigged, you'll know I love unique and innovative travel rods that allow you to always have a way to catch fish, but save space and travel light. Small rods like that are awesome. Few work well, but legit at that size a stick, and line is just more reliable. 😂

I don't have the micro one but I do have the next size up with the splatter green. Just took it to Amelia Island over here in Florida and did some off-the-shore fishing. Caught four drum All around 1 to 3 lb and caught one stingray which was about a pound. The line that comes in it isn't the best and should probably be upgraded, but it pulled all those in with no problem!

I usually prefer my full sized telescoping rods since they're not much bigger than this, but I'm just so intrigued by the tiny reel. I just kinda want one to have.

i bought just to have it to honestly lol, but I do take it with me fourwheeler riding just in case I wanna cast a few times into a creek or something

Yeah I saw these at Walmart..really cool they seem to be well made. There is one problem: the reel comes spooled with only 3 lb. test line. Decent sized bass and you might be in trouble with that light test of line. The rod action is not great either..rather stiff. I could see this rig though as a small handy backpack rig to hike to small trout streams. This rod would be OK for small trout and panfish, and a kid's rod par excellence a pushbutton spincast reel is ideal for kids..way better than fishing rigs targeted specifically for kids. If I didn't already have a small 'dock rod' (a 'Dock Demon') I might bite on one of these.

Just wondering what the eye hooks and rods in the eye hook screw off storage compartment are for?

You tie your line to the cylindrical weight, and stick it through the middle of the rod blank, Shake it upside down and your line will come out the other end. You then cut the line off the weight, replace the weight in the storage area, and then tie on whatever lure you want. It's a really unique way of getting the line through the rod without guides

Literally stick the line through the middle of the rod blank near the fishing reel. Unscrew the little black plastic cap, take out a weight that's stored inside, tie your line to it and stick it through the center of the rod blank (there's a hole for it). Shake it until it comes out the other end. Cut your line and retie it to a lure and put the weight back in the little storage compartment in the handle. It has directions on the package

The one issue I have with this is that it doesn't really make much sense, the action is too stiff for it's size and size of fish intended to catch with it. I took the reel apart and the quality of materials inside seems fairly decent to me, but I don't expect it to work well with anything beyond 4-6lb line and the rod is just too stiff for panfish.

Yeah it's a quirky rod. Kinda just fun to have and if you happen to catch something good it's a plus. Great to bring out on lake house days and stuff when everyone is drunk and forgot a rod

Cannot get the rod to move up or down.. what gives? why doesn't the video cover this issue?

Because my rod doesn't have that issue? If you're having a problem with the rod telescoping properly go return it and get another one. Or your drag is set way too tight preventing the rod from telescoping properly because the reel is putting too much tension on the rod via the fishing line

It's cheap, but the reel is higher quality than you'll find in those crappy kiddy rods. The reel is actually on par quality wise with the 1968 ZEE-BEE ( Zebco 202 ) that I have. I would recommend probably getting a Zebco Doc deamon and replacing the reel , but this does have some interesting aspects that one might prefer.
