those who want to understand HW question: if we purchase 1kg of any item which cost 100rs if you have 100rs than you easy to purchase 1k item but if have only 50r than you purchase only half(1/2) kg item. same concept apply here we purchase 500m wire at 50paise per meter but when we purchase item in rupees we only purchase 250 meter .

In the last sum, they are given 50paise/meter and the man bought 500 metres. Since the rupees value is not given in ruppe they are given in paise... They are given 50paise for 1 meter...so for 2 meter 1 rupees... So just imagine that 500 meter is for 50 paise...then (since two 50 paise =1 rupee) half of the 500 meter is 250..so for 500 meter the amount is 250... So the cp is 250.. Hope u understand
