In this video, we have with us our rocking host Mr. Vivek Bajaj, co-founder of StockEdge and Elearnmarkets, in conversation with Mr. Gomathi Shankar.
Mr. Gomathi Shankar, (Founder & CEO, Scalpers Trading Academy, Chennai) is a full-time trader and trainer skilled in Price Action Trading with more than 7 Years of experience in Financial Markets. He graduated with a Mtech from Anna University and Finance Management from the Loyola Institute Of Business Administration, Chennai. He is also a Certified Research Analyst And Technical Analyst having past work experience with Karvy Stock Broking, Spider Software Pvt Ltd, and Zerodha Stock Broking.
In this video, our guest speaker will talk about profitable options trading with the help of CPR Pivot System. He will discuss various subtopics that are a part of the CPR Pivot system such as CPR indicators, formula, characteristics, and types of CPR.

As usual Mr. Vivek Bajaj is awesome in asking the questions. Thanks. However I am following Mr Gomati Shankar since many days. Infact I'm using KGS CPR indicator for my CPR based trades. I'm a big fan of him. I read Secret of Pivot boss aswell. However I think Mr Gomati would have explained what exactly the CPR means in a better way. 1. CPR represents the Psychology of the previous trading session. 2. CPR acts as a Magnet. It attracts the price back to its range. So it acts as a strong resistance or support. Wide CPR means strong S & R and narrow CPR means weak S & R. in case of Narrow CPR traders try to find the new value and that is the reason for trending market. 3. CPR is a leading indicator. I can plan my entry, exit well in advance. I just have to look for the price action on those pivot levels.

@@YoungxAlpha Central Pivot is considered as a strong support or resistance. However in Secret of Pivot boss book, Franklin Ochoa has mentioned about Double pivot. Say if TC is clashing with weekly Pivot, then TC will become strong support or resistance.

Mr. Gomathi Shankar is a very humble guy. The word CPR(Central Pivot Range) is coined by him only for Indian market. The "cpr" goes by some other name and is developed by Frank Ochoa and well explained in his book "Secret of a pivot Boss". Thanks Vivek ji for this lovely f2f..

Nice indicator by KGS. Thanks for Putting the effort! I suggest the adjustments in different way rather booking the losses. Suppose Sell @ 34700 at Rs. 170 and Buy @34400 at Rs.100. If market reverses and reach around @34700... Step 1) Book the profit in Buy Leg @34400 - Which would be approx 100+ points profit Step 2) buy new put @34500. which looks costlier but at the end of week expiry if Market fell below 34500, You still loose only 30 points without any further adjustments. This can also be saved.. by making another bull Spread below or Bear Spread. Making profit from Market is all about adjustment daily....

Great Video!! Though one practical issue is Margin required still remains around 1.5 Lacs as Brokerage Firms like Zerodha does not allow OTM option buying even for hedged positions. So margin practically required is far more than what mentioned in the video.

Thanks for the video. At Monday, the price of option at the strike price which is 50% mid way between CPR and prev week high or R1, is very low, around Rs.130 and the strike price 300 points above that is around Rs.100. So at the end of week, the max profit I can make is around 30x25=750, best case scenario. Realistically around Rs.500- 600 per week per lot. Am I missing something ?

600Rs per week with a margin of 30000 is 2%. Which is aprox 50% a year. (Every week 2%). If u r saying this is low, i don't know wat is the greed and expectations. Trust me. This is the safety option selling strategy for a beginner. U need to start with 5 lots to enjoy it.

My question to Gomathi sir, Vivek sir and all using this strategy, When the index goes in opposite direction and breaks the breakeven before expiry. The actual MTM is very much higher than the risk reward ratio 1:1 (as Your max loss is equal to max probable profit). 1. When do you consider booking the loss? when your MTM loss is higher than the max possible profit. 2. Is there any adjustment, if index moves in opposite direction after very first 1Hr candle and starts showing loss greater than max possible profit? Or do you wait in anticipation that index will move back in your desired direction?.. Your help is highly appreciated..

We exit only when we see max profit amount as loss in MTM, and the stop loss rarely hits for spreads, for iron condor we have to be carefull with SL

I tried backtesting for the last two months 50% trades hit stop loss.. Though most of the time index never came close to the option sold. I think stop loss should be related to levels rather than fixed stop loss because any 100points +/- on the next day will throw me out of the trade.
