We have a different form of Regenerative since 1981, especially good for large land holders

I got 395g/day lamb growth in first 3 months (lambs with mothers, 100% pasture) with tall fescue, sanfoin, chicoree and plantain, drawback you have to reseed every 3 to 4 years

can't you save seeds?

Native Americans basically grew in the grass in the three sisters method. A lot of native american farming wasn't plow base. Actually some African farming is based away from plow. Many non Euro farming is about understanding the cycle of the land. Then going in during that cycle or using mulch to inplace farm.

Hi. Thanks guys very informative. A quick question , with the lamb trial could you or did you harvest the barley and or the multi species blocks and would that have made any difference.

Thank you for your great observation and question! We will pass it on to Colin, in the meantime head to www.smartsoiledu.com to find out more about pasture cropping.

Question everything - a new perspective can save you money or make you money. So many people do what they have always done without questioning anything. Nothing stays the same so being afraid of new ideas and change is ridiculous. I like to ask people how they want to change - most people don't have a clear plan for the future. We may not know where we are going to be, but we can work towards something and build in options. I have to catch myself regularly and keep setting out new goals and create new options.

anybody doing this in humid regions with hard winters?
@willieclark22563 жыл бұрын
This is for subtropical and tropical regions with dry and relatively warm winters. It can be modified for use on cool season pastures during the summer for warm season annual production (corn, sorghum, sunflower, etc.)

@@willieclark2256 I understand the difference between my climate and his. Have you personally seen it, or know of any recorded talks/webinars on it?
@willieclark22563 жыл бұрын
@@swamp-yankee you can find Joel Salatin talking about it, but the principles are exactly the same. If you want to learn more I suggest signing up for one of Colin's courses. Although I'd advise you to leave the attitude at the door.

@@willieclark2256 no attitude intended. I've seen all Mr Sies' free material. I'll check out what Mr Salatin has to say, but I expect he's after cow days not grains. Local grain is taking off in MA, but I live in the hills. Pasture cropping would be an improvement over local best practice. I want to try buckwheat.

@@swamp-yankee Yeah Joel's not gonna tell you anything you don't already know. If you're already grazing holistically, then just plan your grazing around the co. extensions recommended planting dates, harvest when mature and bob's your uncle.
