I like the down to earth documentary style of thos review. No over production, just right 👌. A gem of a review for sure.

Hi pal, thanks for taking the time to do this review. Last week my Rancilio silva gave way after 10+ yrs and I replaced with the profitec drive. So far I am really happy with it. It’s great to watch somebody else use and clean the machine and pick up useful tips. Thanks😊

@@techtravelpanda We started out on the Rancillo also, stepped up to the Profitec 500, now the 600, and might step up again to the Drive. My experience has been that all these machines will require regular maintenance. Clean water, descaling, servicing and lubing the E61 etc. are all part of ownership. Like a good car, the Profitec will last for years, but will require an occasional repair along with that maintenance. Dealer support matters. Get a high quality grinder too. A big motor is much more important than bells and whistles. Crappy beans are still crappy beans even with a top end machine. Enjoy! We are hooked on terrific coffee made exactly how we like it.

Great video and nice follow up. My Drive came a week or two after you posted your first video. It’s a pretty fair and complete review. I personally don’t like filling the tank having to take off the entire top with the cups. I prefer my Rocket that had a cover over the water tank. I am planning on plumbing it in so won’t be a problem eventually. I sold my Eureka Specialita and paired mine with a Lagom P64 and I’m really happy with that.

Hey beautiful and awesome machine. Have you ever done multiple shots back to back. How many shots do you think the boiler could handle before needing to recover. I once watch a video about the Bianca with this issue "not really an issue because it is a home machine". They have similar boiler sizes. Anyways curious if this could handle 10 + drinks. Thanks!

I've been enjoying using my Drive for a few days now. What might suprise some is I bought it to replace a Londinium. Those complaining about the weight of the Drive should try moving a Londinium. So why the change? Well, like you and your previous grinder, it wasn't reliable. Multiple issues, including two pump failures in four years. I was anxious every time I turned it on. I'm hoping German engineering will prove more reliable. The cleaning procedure was a good help. It's been four years since I back flushed a machine as you don't back flush a lever. My previous machine was a Bezzera, bought secondhand, it gave a decade of trouble free use. Let's hope the Profitec can match that!

Hello, I just received my Drive today. I really love the machine, but I do occasionally get a fairly harsh buzzing/rattling from the drip tray when the motor is running. Do you experience that at all? I did remove the wingnut on the bottom of the machine. Thanks!

I must say I do not get a harsh one. There is some sound coming from it but it is not harsh at all. Check the fit of the whole thing. :)

I have the timemore 78s its a nice easy grinder to use. I seasoned it with 2kg of beans, however I personally dont think it needed it. I also have a Kopi Deva, which i use more than the 78s. I love using that thing, similar sort of specs as the timemore, single dosing, variable rpm but better looking and more enjoyably in my opinion. I would check that grinder out. I had the x54 for about 2 weeks, but there was an issue with it so i had to send it back, but i really enjoyed it and wish I kept it tbh

Drive contains all the same parts on the inside as ECM. They are made by the same factory. :) And you get all you need in one device. :)

How do you find the steam? I have just received mine and think there is something wrong with it.. steam pressure will not go over 1.5bar even at max temp and it drops off really quickly. Otherwise, so far, its been a great machine
@techtravelpanda9 ай бұрын
Interesting! Try increasing the temperature of the steam boiler :) If the problem persists, maybe there is a fault to the device.

Hi mate.. My profitec arrived today.. And it's heavy... How did you lift it out of the box? Did you have to cut the box sides? I'm trying to retain the box for the future....
@techtravelpanda8 ай бұрын
Hey hey! Yes, it is a heavy beast :D I did not cut the original box. Remove the portafilter, grab the machine by the grouphead and slide your arm on the back and grab it by the bottom. Do not do sudden and forecfull moves. It would also help if you have someone to work with. :) Also, bring the box next to where you plan to place it and then take it out.
@TheElektrikChair8 ай бұрын
@@techtravelpanda I broke a sweat handling this machine out of the box. I padded the table with a thick blanket and slid it out of the box sideways... Then slowly put it back up right.... Now I find my table a bit too low... Need to raise up my counter.
@techtravelpanda8 ай бұрын
@@TheElektrikChair we call those sweet pain and problems! You will love the machine! Just make sure you fill it the first time and it heats up that there are no leaks or similar. There is a little valve dropping some water droplets in the metal water collector under the group head. That is normal while heating up! :)))

Not that Im any expert but fast heating time,quickly overheating interiors sounds like extra stress for them if used for extended periods of time. Also you can set two schedules per day,can switch off one of them? I mean I work alternative shifts so having machine turn on at different times each week would be nice.
@techtravelpanda9 ай бұрын
You can have only one time a day for it to switch on. Does not need to be twice a day. You just don't fill in the values for the second time in the day. And regarding the fast heat up. I think you should be ok. Steam and brew boiler are similar in it's construction.
@Jacob-eo8siАй бұрын
The steam boiler is subjected to higher temps and pressure on a daily basis. I think the fast heat up it is a great future to have. I have a breville and it can heat up in about 7 minutes which is really convenient. Typical E61 heat up time has always been a down side to me. I'm really glad to see that it has an on off timer.
@ericlai11605 ай бұрын
I just got my drive also. But i cant seem to get the schedule timer to work. I've set my clock right and schedule a start time for each day. But it doesnt as intended. Am I doing something wrong? The machine is off and not in eco mode (and obviously power switch is left on)
