After extraction, if you hit the portafilter with the inside of your palm, this will dislodge the puck screen from the coffee puck (using air pressure), and then it's easy to slide it out before you knock the puck out.

Just one note. As you seem to be buying a large amount of coffee and care about freshness, please freeze in portions you will use in 2-3 weeks. Right now it looks like by the time you get through half the coffee it will be extremely old. Really don't want to use coffee over a month old. Freezing in and air tight container in smaller portions and then removing them only when you are ready to use that portion will let you keep peak freshness and also buy large quanities of beans.
@paviaaPS3 Жыл бұрын
Thx, have heard of the method but seems a little overkill for me, I go through 1 kg of coffee in just about 2 weeks, so this will not apply for me 😊

why after pulling a shot the pressure needle doesn't go to zero?
@paviaaPS3 Жыл бұрын
That’s because pressure is measured after the pump and before the boiler. When the 3 way solenoid valve does it’s job, it cuts off brewing and spits out excessive pressure within the puck. But line pressure doesn’t go away, that sealed off by the 3 way valve. That’s why. Completely normal. Machines I haven’t had this problem, is the Sage barista express. That’s engineered to measure brew pressure instead, and when done brewing the pressure is will go to zero due to 3 way valve 😊

Great set up! FYI - if you want 9 bar on the coffee you need to adjust the machine's pressure to show 10 bar on the gauge.
@tagheuer02 Жыл бұрын
But the gauge showed 9 bar and its set from factory to push 9 bar at the grouphead. It isn't necessary to change the factory setting unless you want to for a lighter roast. The pressure gauge in this shot was exactly at 9 bar in the group head. Please provide a source, preferably from manufacturer, that states you need to adjust to 10 to get 9 at the head. Also, how do you know you are adjusting to 10 if there are no markings on the set screw?
@Dave-np5wr7 ай бұрын
@@tagheuer02 the pressure gauge shows the pressure of the boiler, not the pressure of the group head. You have to subtract 1 bar from the gauge and that's the pressure your coffee gets extracted at. So, 10 bar on the gauge is 9 bar at the group head. To adjust the pressure you insert the blind filter, start the pump and watch the gauge. Read the manual for more information. Hope that helps.

Profitec Go makes a hell of a noise PID is located at a very inconvenient low place You always have to bend over to view and work with the PID. Do take care not to burn your fingers Rather irritating The lid of the watertank is sitting losely on top and rattles when the vibration pump is working. It doesn't slide in neatly too Why not a hinge? The driptray itself is rather small and doesn't slip in neatly as well. Driptray becomes very hot and there is a great chance that the solder joints become loose. Even solder hot spots are visible. The sidepanels and back panel are connected to each other in a clumsey way You have to purge the steamwand twice before making a cappuccino. Making Americano's is tricky because of the short distance The Profitec Go has no smooth workaround and is sloppily put together. All in all definately not barista friendly.
