Why is the demand node label and net supply and given a negative value? You didn’t negate the demand node in the previous transportation problem.

It's in and out. One of them must be negative in this setup. Net Supply = Supply - Demand. That is, Outflow - Inflow If Supply is 0 and Demand is positive, then Net Supply will be negative.
