Thank you for this video! Do you find that patients have less side effects with Crinone than PIO?
@yourivfnurse52735 жыл бұрын
I would have to say that patients will complain of more side effects with the PIO: not only do they experience the typical side effects (constipation, bloating etc) of progesterone but they will also deal with irritation (tenderness, lumping etc) at the injection site.

Thank you! I am switching to Crinone and am hoping to have less side effects, especially depression, etc. I am hoping since the progesterone won’t be going through my whole system it will be a little bit better. 😊

Can i use sanitary pads, after inserting progesterone tablets, to avoid discharge discomfort.
@DP1031005 жыл бұрын
How much discharge is appropriate? I feel like my Progesterone all of the waxy stuff is leaking out. I am pushing it all the way up but despite that I feel that it's leaking a lot. Is that normal?
@yourivfnurse52735 жыл бұрын
Dhruvi Patel it is normal and the amount will vary from person to person. Once the progesterone is inserted vaginally within approx 20mins the progesterone is said to be absorbed by the body. The discharge is from what the progesterone is placed in in order to insert into the vagina. So if you are using the suppositories it is from the wax/oil compound. If it is coming out whole your body has not had the time to absorb it. Hope this helps.

I personally didn't have any discharge so it's interesting to hear your experience
@DP1031005 жыл бұрын
@@yourivfnurse5273 yes the discharge coming out is oily and waxy and bit white in colour. And the whole pill is not coming out just oil like substance comes out. My Nurse also said that I would see little discharge also but am just scared that it's all coming out. So just out of curiosity does that mean the body takes how much it needs and rest leaks out?
@yourivfnurse52735 жыл бұрын
Dhruvi Patel it will use what it needs and excrete the rest which is the waxy oily substance that is coming out

Hi..are there any long term side effects of taking progesterone. Ihave been taking progesterone for 7 weeka of my pregnancy as I had got IUI done. But, I am very scared if taking hormon medicines like these progesterone suppositories will have any long term impact on my body.

Thanks for this video I had a brown discharge not am 7weeks. Is it normal? Still on my progesterone medication
@yourivfnurse52735 жыл бұрын
ifunanya umeojiego yes, some spotting is normal. Brown spotting is from old blood. Continue the progesterone as per your clinic/doctor instructions. If the spotting/bleeding should increase or become bright red you will need to see a doctor for assessment.

I just started the suppositories last night and I was fine for a couple hours but all of a sudden I ended up with (TMI warning) diarrhea and very bad nausea. Is that common? This is my first femera cycle
@yourivfnurse52735 жыл бұрын
Raegan Lee yes the progesterone can cause bloating and diarrhea and in some women it may cause constipation. These side effects can also lead to nausea and upset stomach

Question about Crinone - if you do not clean it out (I feel l can never go far up to remove all) will it eventually come out on its own?
@yourivfnurse52735 жыл бұрын
Jelena Jurkovic if you feel as though your not cleaning everything out it will eventually come down so you will be able to get it out. You may experience some vaginal discharge where it may have the gel in it. This is completely normal.

Your IVF Nurse Thanks for a quick response. Good to know it will all come out eventually 😊. Thanks for relieving my anxiety.

Can you use a tampon after inserting
@yourivfnurse52735 жыл бұрын
tessa tadlock unfortunately it has never been a recommendation or approved by any of the doctors that I’ve worked with as inserting a tampon may absorb the progesterone before your body has had the chance too. Even though the compounded suppositories are messy there are other forms which are less messy such as the progesterone gel (crinone) and the vaginal tablet (endometrin).
