The best of both worlds: the Knight of the Ayreon fame singing the APP's masterpiece. Two of my favourite bands coming together.

Oh my... I never put this song with Damian Wilson. What a performance. His vocal skills, colour and the emotional transmission he brings are a perfect match to this great Alan Parsons Project song. Thanks for digging it out and shedding some light on it.

It's quite difficult to cover a song of the APP, but you did a great job! You've transfered the special feelings of this song very good. And excellent musicians! Thank you for this cover!

@@richarddamico5639 Guitar was ok. A bit extended but falls short of the sax, especially from the 2013 concert in Colombia with the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra.

Simply put, just a beautiful rendition of Old and Wise. Perhaps a reason unknown to me, however, the first "singing" of the lyrics "When they asked me if I knew you I'd smile and say you were a friend of mine" should be as written and not the later, similar lyrics of "When they ask you if you knew me remember that you were a friend of mine". Not to be a jerk but, the exchange of the lyrics "you / I", be it accidental or intentional, negates the otherwise soulful, impassioned telling of the story. Great artist.

As far as my eyes can see There are Shadows approaching me And to those I left behind I wanted you to Know You've always shared my deepest thoughts You follow where I go And oh when I'm old and wise Bitter words mean little to me Autumn Winds will blow right through me And someday in the mist of time When they asked me if I knew you I'd smile and say you were a friend of mine And the sadness would be Lifted from my eyes Oh when I'm old and wise As far as my Eyes can see There are shadows surrounding me And to those I leave behind I want you all to know You've always Shared my darkest hours I'll miss you when I go And oh when I'm old and wise Heavy words that tossed and blew me Like Autumn winds that will blow right through me And someday in the mist of time When they ask you if you knew me Remember that You were a frined of mine As the final curtain falls before my eyes Oh when I'm Old and wise As far as my eyes can see
