How to program your LiftMaster remote control with the control panel on the wall. These instructions work for the latest LiftMaster, Chamberlain & Craftsman products that have a Learn Button on the wall console. In this video we are programming an 893LM remote control to an 882LM control panel. Same for 891LM, 892LM and similar series remote controls and wall buttons. My battery leaked in my remote so I had to take sandpaper and small pieces of Scotch-brite pads to the positive contacts of the battery holder. The were clean but it still didn't work. I had to go to the re-program step next. That was the cure. Simple and to the point tutorial which saved me time the hassle of trying to hunt down my manual. Thanks!

Out of all the videos I’ve needed to watch, this has me complexed. I hope this way doesn’t have to make me reprogram my keypad code and I’m just programming my opener! It’s a long story but I just had to do all of this couple of months ago and when I did it the 1st time and had to re-program both remote and keypad I wrote the instructions down… now I can’t find em. Now I’m watching videos and if I understand correctly when u do it this way as u have shown I will only be reprogramming the (portable) garage door remote

I have the same wall mounted unit but for some reason it will not work, then at other times it will operate the door, I removed the unit to see if both wires were tight, and they were. so not sure where the problem lays. any ideas would help thank you.

If you have other security+ openers on your property you may wish to opt for the 893 max which can work on multiple frequencies, my own transmitter is programmed to an 850LM for triggering a door strike timer relay, an older red button LM opener, and a craftsman orange button opener. Was very simple to program.

After 100 videos, I found you and it worked!! Thanks a million. HOWEVER, the opener works for the main garage, it did not reset for the adjacent door (with similar opener system). My broken remote worked for both. Any idea?

My remote control raises and lowers my garage door fine however the wall button blinks continuously and wont raise or lower the garage door when pressed. I have a Chamberlain model.

didn't work but helped when I used the same process with the main unit (yellow button 8 times). The contractor quoted $189 ($100 for remote and $89 service charge). Got it done for $24 and a trip to Home Depot/Menards/Lowes where they sell Chamberlain remotes (owns Liftmaster) ... now I've to get my water heater fixed :(

I did this and the main garage door button on the remote opens BOTH double car and 3rd car. How can I get the 3rd car off of this signal?

I did get one of 2 remotes to be successful....but the one remote I'm still having trouble with does not want to separate the signal! The 3rd car garage operates on its smaller button, but the big button wants to operate both garages at the same time!

@@lisanoele7996 did you get it to work? The manual says to press and hold the learn button until the LED goes out (about 6 seconds). This erases all codes. Do this for all your doors, and then start from scratch and reprogram your remotes and buttons to the doors you want. You can download the manual from Liftmasters website. The model of the remote should be on the back of it

I know button to the left (big button) is for opening and closing door.can you please tell me what the middle and button to the right are for? (two smallest buttons)

+trickpp11 You can operate three doors with that remote, if the openers are compatible with the remote. You can also program one of the buttons to turn the light on the opener on/off. You can purchase a unit that plugs into the wall and whatever you plug to that unit you can program one of the buttons to turn that item on/off.

There is sometimes a learn button up on the lift itself. Using a ladder to get to it. I’ve seen that mentioned elsewhere.
