I have made up a special obd2 plug with a switch on it to do this it looks a little bit more professional then putting a wire in the obd2 plug but does the same job and you can turn it off by the switch without unplugging it

You bridge the gap between pin 1&4 of the OBD port to allow yourself access to the relearn function. Paperclip or a piece of wire
