it was back in 90s when programmers wrote assembly code. It was a repeated work and there was no way to copy and paste work so there is huge difference between now and then and they have shown the true reality of corporate companies. This culture is still followed in china, they give extra work when workers are free.

pick up a nice book about java and start reading. Also online resources are fantastic. If you're going to go to college about it, start by hand coding before turning to IDEs and learn how the java compiler works on your machine.
