I’m not clear on why there is a GPS? For some digital mode?

yes digital modes and you can search for local repeaters depending on where you are in the world. So if im in a new state that i dont live in i can have it search for local repeaters and it will pull them up using the gps location of where you are. It can also tell you in what direction someone else is from you.

Also works with analog if you program your radio correctly. Uses GPS coordinates of repeater

Is there a way to change the khz rather than have it jump? I noticed mine only jumps by 25. I’m trying to get in .012

Yes absolutely in VFO mode push the QUICK button and scroll to "TS" that's where you change your tuning step size Hopefully that works for you.

By default will this radio transmit on GMRS channels if the frequencies are added to memory?

No it is not capable of transmitting out of the amateur bands. You can receive though.

I’m having trouble Programing a 440 frequency I can do 2meters fine but there are different fields for the 440

When I get TS the value is 25 and goes up from there and I can’t get in to the repeater

So in the quick menu change where it says TS to 5.0khz while in VFO mode.
