Is there any way to add fade to changes in color combinations?

Awesome video! How do you handle timing... Say you’re in your main color and you want to go into one of the alternate or flip colors, the macro just overwrites the preset instantly. How do you handle smoother fades?

that's a really great question! the hard truth is that I don't use it for that application. This is used mainly for making changes to a pre-programmed tune at the outset. So for example, in my shows, the color change macro I want to use for that song is built into the song start macros I have. That means the colors automagically update for each song coming up in the set list. I never really meant this to be applied to punting, I've got a whole other set of execs to do that. All that said, if you're in a pinch and need to change it fast, nothing wrong with holding a strobe swop or going for a blinder hit and changing during that ;)

BlindEdit in Macros is a great way to accomplish this. Instead of Copying, which makes the colors snap immediately with no Fade, I have Macros to set number variables to the colors I want in my effect. Then, I use a separate "engine" Macro to apply the Presets in BlindEdit. e.g. "Group x at Preset $colorNumber /LAYER=EffectLow" The engine Macro then Stores this into a Cue, which can then be Faded in seemlessly
