In this video, I will show you how to program the distance formula on your Ti-84 graphing calculator. The distance formula is very useful if you are taking the SAT or ACT.
Works with TI-84 CE, TI-84, TI-83, TI-89

If you need your Answer to show as a rational at the end you can modify that instead of disp lets set the problem to solve your Quadratic but then hit STO> Z and set your answer to a letter, then on the next line you can Disp Z , Z^2 and this will show you the answer and what it would look like squared, which would be your rational. Little bit of play, but it can be done.

You could actually simplify this code by saying "Prompt A,B,C,D" instead of repeating the prompt command.

Is there a way to get this to show in an exact answer? Such as with radicals?

Just find the square root of the given answer squared. This will give you the exact answer with radicals.

what do A B C and D represent? like which is the x coordinate and which is the y coordinate for each point?

A is the first x coordinate, B is the first y coordinate, C is the second x coordinate, and D is the second y coordinate

Instead of doing 1 prompt for each variable you can do one prompt and put all variables there using commas :Prompt A, B, C, D

Tolderius Destalinius If you take the answer and square it that will give you the radical. Just make sure to include the square root symbol
