Hi Deepak, If I watch the circuit you build in the video I see TXD from UART bridge connects to pin 3 and RXD to pin 7 but in the schematic these connections are swapped. Please check and maybe add a footnote to which ever is correct. Cheers!

Hi, could you tell me, why did you connect the Tx pin to pin-7 as you can see from the pin diagram of IC, the TX pin is pin-4 and similarly the RST pin is pin-16 but you have connected it to pin-17

Hi, Hardware UART and BSL UART/programming pins are different that's why we need to connect TX/RX pin that way. RST pin is reset of MSP430 which we need to connect to DTR of RS232 line of UART-Bridge and we need to connect Test pin of MSP430 to RTS pin of RS232 line. It can be kinda confusing at first glance, open the datasheet and take another look at the pinout of the IC and it will become much clearer ;)

I belive if your MSP chip supports bsl then you can use the bsldemo program. To make things easier you can use our new platform agnostic msp programming software. github.com/upsidedownlabs/msptool

@@lorforlinux I'm an ECE student and want job in embedded systems domain so that's why I'm learning it. But moat of the job requirements are arm like stm32 and somewhere pic. For internships it is raspberry pie or esp32 their programming is for hobbyist. That's why I was wondering msp430 or pic16 for starting
