Thanks Morten! I just got this thing, and thought it was broken. Who knew the cable was positional!

Thanks for the tip there Jim! I gotta got mine up and running again. Turns out that really cheap no name SD cards is not the right thing to use for your Allstar node. The funny thing is that I was watching your video when your tip came in.

OMG I've been fighting this thing for 2 days until you said "flip the usb cable around to use it".

It's not so obvious, but it does the trick. Happy to help!

How do you change the fm bandwidth? from wide to narrow?
@LB0FIАй бұрын
I don't think you can.

What interface are you using to program the RF node with, never seen that one before?

It's mentioned at 1:30 in the video. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I just built an AllStar 3 node using a Aursinc for the radio link. All's well except the bit error rate is high. I know where this adjustment is on pistar but haven't a clue with allstar. Could someone please help me?
@LB0FI4 ай бұрын
I honestly don't know. I haven't really looked that deep into AllStar. I will see what I can figure out once I get my note up and running.

Is there a way to "read" whats on the radio that was previuosly set up? Also how am I going to tell if I have the USB C flipped the right way? Thx
@LB0FI Жыл бұрын
I haven’t found a way to read what it is programmed with, but I am sure there is a way. As with the USB cable it is a bit of trial and error, but once you find the right way you can mark the cable as I have done.

Can you share your simple USB settings for the AllStar side?

It is not up and running at the moment, but I can do that once I get it up again at some point.

I am interested, does this Node stuff have anything to do with GMRS, like a Repeater system of some sorts ? , thanks for any replys... WSBU229

I live in Norway, and hence I don't know GMRS since that's purely a North American radio service.

Morten, do you consider the USB cable faulty because you had to flip it over for 2 functions? If so, that is the radio's fault. USB C on the board has 2 sets of pins which are normally shorted on the board. Or they can be connected to 2 devices on the board so flipping the cable is like having 2 connectors: one for programming, one for useage.
@LB0FI Жыл бұрын
Nope, but the cable that comes with the node is not connected to all of the pins. But when you swap it with a better cable it works like a charm. And I actually like the unusual way that they have given this device two ports.
