worked perfectly even with a newer version. Only when you want to make a new java application with ants, net beams will ask you to download and enable something (forgot the name) just do what netbeans tells you and everything is okay. Thy for the great video!

@@stemicalengineer hey.. The probelm is resolved.. NetBeans does not support jdk version 14..it only supports till jdk 8.. So uninstall jdk 14 and install jdk 8.

For the people who are running into all sorts of problems even after following the steps 1.not necessary but suggested, delete the previous version of java if you have from your pc just reduces some complications 2.while installing java try not to change the file location and let it be intalled at the default location even if u have an ssd. 3.while downloading netbeans make sure that java and netbeans are at the same location. 4.after running netbeans when you go to create project, it might ask you to install some custom jdk files required by netbeans or just activate jdk, click on the install and activate. You should be good to go now/. Wrote this because i myself faced many issues while doing this. Try and keep things simple guys.
