Don’t worry too much about bad grades. I got a 3 out of 10 (highest) on my midterm 😂 However, I’m happy to be learning how to code. My grades shows me that I still need improvement and practise. I’m excited of the day where I can understand code and how to code. Be hungry for improvements and never let bad things discourage you. Think of it as more room for improvemnt ❤

2:03:39 I just used if it is divisible by 15. Why? Because: if some n is divisible by 3 n = 3k (k is an integer) if some n is divisible by 5 n = 5j (j is an integer) So if it is divisible by both: n = 3(5j) = 15j ==> it is divisible by 15.

Other two conditions can be both true so they print separately part of the word. It could get even more condensed, but that would sacrifice readability.

Mosh, thank you so much for giving an explanation for just about every word that you type, whether it be short and sweet to be elaborated upon at a later time, or an in depth explanation from the start. I get so tired of when teachers tell me to write a ton code only to say "Don't worry about this line of code, I'll explain later", or never explain it at all. It's so frustrating since the way I learn and conceptualize is by understanding why I'm typing something.

Thanks for this course. I fell asleep several times while watching, but persistently tried to look further and understand. At the end of the course, I could not say that I did not understand something. But at the same time, I still did not understand how this information can help me to do programming. Mosh said that it is not necessary to immediately memorize all these commands that he demonstrates. Well, I didn't remember, and I don't understand what to do next. I don't seem to be a fool. I myself have been an ITguy for many years. But apparently the programming is not mine. I kept expecting some kind of catharsis, but thinking about programming I feel like I am in outer space, where each star is your working tool. It seems to me that a programming course for beginners should include not only an abundance of commands (which no one will remember), but a way to understand what this toolkit is all about. If you are an painter, your tools are brushes and paints. If you are a musician, your tool is a musical instrument, with not that many strings, keys, or valves. What is a programmer's toolkit? A million commands and a million combinations of them? What should I understand (learn?) to be able to write my own programs? But, maybe, I'm a fool after all. Sadness and sorrow.

@@gorgifido7688 Is there any chance, that starting from Java can be dead end to newbie? And starting with Python be much more understandable? I saw some video about Python in this channel... same lines of code :)

@@MrMikhail No, some people can start with java. But I would recommend starting with python and take baby steps upwards. Almost all languages have similar concepts only the syntax is a bit different.

If you're using a newer version of IDEA the UI has changed. Just pick "New Project" from the menu on the left, name your project, toggle "Add sample code" on, then hit the "Create" button. After your project is ready, just right click the "src" folder in the sidebar and select "New">"Package". After that just drag and drop the Main.java file into that new package folder and IDEA will ask to refactor(just say yes or ok). After that your files should look and act like Mosh's.

1:03:00 I can confirm Greek people pronounce "pi" as you did on your first lecture. I'm a Greek 18 year old and I'm studying Information and Electronic Engineering (that means I also study programming languages). It's been 12 months since I first got in touch with this profession and many of my classes are in English. It felt uncomfortable when I heard how "pi" was pronounced in English, considering π is a Greek letter and I usually know English pronunciations. Greetings from Thessaloniki! You helped me with your videos!

just scratched Java after spending heavily on C++. What I can say is syntactillay both are very similar, but Java is way easier than C++ with automatic memory management. Anyways looking forward to learn what Java brings to the table which both python and C++ can not. Thx for the amazing tutorial.

in Order Of Operation ( 1:07:18 ) You will use PMDAS (i read this as PEMDAS as a shortcut and easier to pronounce): P - parenthesis M - multiplication D - division A - addition S - subtraction *I just want to share so others won't forget*

My native language is Spanish and even so It might seem as more difficult for me to understand your lessons, let me tell you that they are so clear and well structured that it is making me understand a lot of concepts that I've was recently taught in classes given completely in Spanish. So Thank you for being such a great teacher.
