I know that you like some games that are cut throat, so I suggest you try Innovation. It might be called a civ game, it's short and it's brutal, it has a lot of interaction and is mostly chaos mitigation more than engine building.

It looks intriguing, albeit w/ similar mechanisms to some other games in our collection like Innoation, Age of Civilization & even It's a Wonderful World. The key to all those is that they play in 60 minutes or less. You say the game time is 75 to 90 minutes, which means in our house it's going to be 90 minutes at best :) However it's a game I will look into a little more now because you rate it so highly, thanks!.

It's a very pleasant game worthy of a 7/10 rating, just earning a Shield of Quality.
