PROGRESS ON THE HOUSE RAISING

Raising a home 11 foot in the air is not for the faint of heart! But the Trueloves don't back away from a daunting project! Come along with us and watch the process ~ almost to the end:)
Join me for Truelove Family stories (which I have many, as a mother of 10 kids), Mothering Autism, with our Maxwell on our many fun car rides, and Free quilting class and sewing lessons! And as in a 'classroom' setting, my tutorials are approximately 1/2 hour+ long....So Join me in my home sewing room, out and about and trying to make all sorts of quilted goodies! Be aware ~ I like to chat and probably repeat myself over and over, (and stutter sometimes), and if this annoys you, then view elsewhere - but, if patient, you hopefully will learn a new method or technique and get an insight into a very large family and their crazy fun:)

Hi Jean & family! Oh my goodness!!! What a gorgeous transformation! I just about cried at some of the "before" pics, all the mud & mess to see now what it's become. The back covered porch, 2nd story porch, the retaining wall-just beautiful! 🥰🥰 I'm sure you're relieved in a sense that they will be the owners again. Jean it's turned out beautiful. It's going to be some size of a house!!! We had a bad storm here last week and there was a lot of flooding in our county , a lot of homes and businesses destroyed. It;s so heartbreaking to see poeples lives upended but you are living proof that things can and will get better. Stay safe, love from Ireland xxx

Yes, it is son #4 (and wife) who owns this home and the home we lived in while looking for OUR new (old) home. It HAS been a massive project....probably the largest he has ever done, but well worth it as it WILL be their family/forever home:)

Yes, the last many years have been a struggle and a real test. But like I said, all is well now and we are absolutely delighted that the home is still in the Trueloves' lives:) I can go and visit my 'deer' friends also:)

The house is looking really nice Jean, perfect for a young family to grow up in with all the outdoor space. I think that things happen for a reason and I believe that you Ian and Maxwell were meant to be where you are now. The quilt is rowing along nicely Jean. I have my Dresden blocks made ready to sew onto background fabric. I am slowly getting over Covid although it has left me feeling very tired at times. Beautiful area to live in. Is your son doing any of the work himself? When we built our partial underground house we did most of the work ourselves except for the digging, the floor and the outer walls. ( they are Styrofoam block walls). My son and his friends were in college and helped when they could. My husband was able to do the electrical, friends helped with the roof and drywall and I helped put in ceiling insulation and did most of the filling the screw holes with mudding. Saved us a lot of money 😊

We encouraged all of our kids to learn a trade, hence we have Electricians, Plumbers, HVAC, General Contractors, Drywallers, Painters, Carpenters, etc. in the children!! Saves us a ton of money. Got a project?!?! Just call one of the Truelove siblings! :

My youngest son is an electrician, my oldest is a city manager who loves to do carpentry (my Dad was an excellent carpenter) and our middle one works with computers and fixes machines. Your houses are so beautifu Jeanl and so much space. I guess me living on a tiny island, land is very scares and if one has a nice size garden is a luxury. Can i ask you 1 thing? when you say 2 1/2 bedroom or bathroom what does it really mean. I'm guessing it will be a small bedroom or just a toilet and no bath? It's funny how we all describe the same things in different way

LOL! Yes, 2 1/2 bathrooms mean 2 full bathrooms (shower/bath, sink, toilet) and then the 1/2 bath is just a sink and toilet. We are blessed to have much land here in the US, out in the country/suburbs where we live.
