Amazing app. There is nothing else that does this and it does so much more than generating chords. I think something like a voice leading mode that always looks for the closest inversion of the next chord and that creates passing notes on the last beat of a measure would be fantastic. Cheers and thank you for making this!

Great idea! I am looking forward to updating this app as we have a few great ideas for it going forward.

I've watched the whole series and this really is a fantastic app. It offers something that no other chord generator does, and breaks out of the box, and gives you a massive amount of control over the results to tweak and explore by varying the way the chords are played. Clicking that generate button is just the start - it's so much more.

Thanks mate, me and David are very proud of this app and I couldn't have done it without his wealth of musical knowledge. I appreciate the feedback as always.

Thanks mate, and thanks for pointing out David's paper to the guy wanting scales. I don't think some people quite understand what we were trying to do here!

Also, a way to have progressions find passing chords between two existing chords would be brilliant! Tritone substitutions and secondary dominants etc…

Absolutely brilliant app Paul! The only thing that i am missing is an undo/redo last action button. Would be great if you can implement that.

Hello Mr. Paul, I have just purchased you app and I like it a lot! (Just like the other dozen I have bought from 4 pockets) I am messing around with it and, and because you get improving it, I would like to suggest some features, namely: translation of the song to other keys or modes (even to the next ones, if you decide to do so); minor harmonic and melodic; greek modes (dorian, mixo, etc…). That would be great, because one could experiment the change of mood of a song in relation to these new modes. Thank you!

Have you read the paper by David Collett linked to in the in-app manual? It will answer your question, and is a must-read!
@Mr.Cockney2 жыл бұрын
@@GavinskisTutorials Thank you for your answer. Yes, I have read the paper, almost entirely. The case is I am only an aficionado musician, and I supposed that there would be an answer there but I didn’t find one or perhaps I skipped it inadvertently. I use these apps not only for amusement but also for learning music (I cannot afford classes). In other apps, these features are clearer to find. I am sorry.

@@Mr.Cockney I know what you mean, but this is not designed to be that way. It's basically designed for people with little knowledge of music theory - or even those with deep knowledge - to quickly find surprising and interesting progressions that will move between keys in exciting ways.
@PaultheMusicMan2 жыл бұрын
As Gavin pointed out, we tried to move away from traditional scales to provide a program that doesn't result in the same old chord patterns. As soon as you go down that route everything starts to sound the same. This method is based in mathermatical relationships of one chord to the next rather than just following a scale.
@Mr.Cockney2 жыл бұрын
@@PaultheMusicMan I see the diference now. It is right that you wrote it down in the instructions, but I didn't got it right. Thanks!

Your apps are great, but there is a problem in my case with all of them : the knob sensibility, précision is impossible most of the time when i want to tweak precisely a knob with my finger. I don’t know if someone has already reported this issue, i have an iPad 6, iPhone 7 / OS 14.8 Hope the problem will be resolved , thanks ;)
@PaultheMusicMan2 жыл бұрын
THe mistake most people make is trying to turn the knob. Instead simply TAP, HOLD and DRAG either vertically or horizontally in one direction.

how great and cool would've be if we can have neon with all its audio editing and sampling capabilities, together with digistix mpc still drum pads and eding capabilities, also with chameleon instruments making capabilities and helium sequencer with all its features put together with progression chords and scales creativity, plus multi-track layering features and all 4pockets fx and processors all in one app for standalone and auv3, basically The 4Pockets Complete Audio Music Work Station, i would pay top price for that !!

Hi Paul I hope you are doing well, so the thing is I have almost all of your amazing apps and I work with them daily in AUM and all goes perfect until I have recorded all of the audio stems. From here I have to export all of the track one by one to another app and this just annoying and makes us losing a lot of time. So I am here to beg you if you could do a timeline grid for AUM,something like multitrack record but with more tracks,the possibility of recording more than one track at the same time and the possibility of adding effects and timeline modulation.This would save us a lot of time so we could finish track without goin out of AUM. Something like Hellium but for audio. Please think of this with love and best regards for you.
@PaultheMusicMan2 жыл бұрын
I agree with you in practice, but the realities of an AUv3 plugin is that we no control over the host and limited memory to play with, and as you know audio apps like this are pretty memory hungry. I think this might explain why nobody has attempted a fully fldeged DAW like interface inside of AUM up to press. Now a plugin that can be inserted into each channel that has a single unified interface for capturing stems may be a lot easier but it needs some thought.

I appreciate this alternate means of saving and backing up, etc, by using the Files app. Because I tried using the web transfer method, using the exact details you provide, and I got told it was an invalid address. Now, I was only using Safari and Chrome here on my iPad. I haven't tried on a desktop-type computer. Would that make a difference?
@PaultheMusicMan2 жыл бұрын
Both iPad and PC/Mac have to be on the same wifi network for Web Transfer to work.
