I'm a centre back and I am extremely passionate. I am communicating with my team all game, really getting on the strikers nerves and doing anything to keep the ball out of our net. If any defenders are reading this I would highly take doing these things into consideration. It makes you feel like you have more control over the game along with generally having more fun.

A problem I face as a full back is that my back line will push up a little to high them the striker comes at me with the ball and the other D isn’t back and it causes a problem because they also take to long to come back then it’s a 2v1 and I don’t really know how to stop it sometimes I will cut the pass if while jockeying and I can close them done but is there a better way to do it please let me know

I just want to say that I think this tutorial is kind of the reversed tutorial of attacking. If a player is unbeatable in defense, there will be no chances in a game. If you are a good defender and you come up against a very good attacker, theoritically, there won't be any chances created. I'm just thinking this is a bit weird. Besides this, I still think this is a very good video and I thank Dylan. Btw, English is my secondary language.

Say you're defending a very good player and you're slightly slowing him down by jockeying and staying close, but he isn't making any mistakes that you can exploit. Passion is great, anybody can have passion. Intelligence is more important at top level. The idea you 'must' always be goal-side when an attacker moves forward means you drop deep easily. That's not always good. Also when you set up with 4 defenders, 2 holding midfielders it's very easy to stay compact. Nice video, host speaks well but don't let him shoot, have passion, when ball far away you don't need to be tight are the basics 5 year olds will likely have worked out for themselves....................For example when playing full back against a quick skilful winger with great feet youcan watch the ball or watch his chest, the body cannot travel in a diffrent direction to torso so you nulify his greater speed by not trying to win the ball but know where he's going..............it's also much easier to win the ball the second he looks up.....................Many times when you see Ronaldo robbed of the ball is when he looks up to cross/pass because in that split second he can't see a quick tackle..................the best type of tackle is a quick flick/toe poke with no/little backlift but enough to nick the ball out of his control. These are also non complicated skills but defensive skills are as important as attacking. They're technical
