You don't have to be able to do them. Just every time you practice keep ups for around 15 minutes to warm up. My record is 340 and I never spent along time at once practicing them. I just did a little every day and some tricks and now I'm a lot better at them. Keep ups help your touch a lot too. Just don't spend too much time at once practicing them.

they are more for indoor soccer but it actually works on gras too

You would just need to take into account that the ball will bounce softer on grass. So when you're doing a pick-up where it bounces off the ground, you'll need to use a little more force.

yes freestyle isnt so important in football, but heres the thing freestyle gives you certain precision, footwork, calmness and most importantly it also gives you some swagger and to be a good tehnical calm modern player thats important and if you cant juggle the ball like more than 15 time at least thats not ok and thats something you need to work on and freestyle doesnt mean always doing bunch of tricks i prefer skills like juggling the ball with one thigh or what i like the most is juggling with a tennis ball and the answer for all of you yes that some dude has good freestyle but is he good in a match, yes he is, maybe he is not brilliant but he for sure is a solid player and if you look all today professional players they all have more or less solid juggling/freestyle skills and not only the best ones but from your hometown pro club players also have decent juggling skills you dont need crazyy tricks and skills that blow up your mind, but easilly juggling and doing some tricks here and there or practicing a little bit with a tennis ball is wanted
