What en absolutely exquisite arrangement, Emil. Thank your SO MUCH for sharing this lesson. I love to learn your arrangements. I had my hands full last Christmas working on your arrangement for "have yourself a merry little Christmas". What fun! I still enjoy playing it. But this year, this piece is top of my to-do list.

@@proguitarofficial With great pleasure, I would be very honored. By the way, Fred Caramia is a good friend of mine and one of your students. He just left my house 10 minutes ago and played an excerpt from your arrangement of "Have yourself a litte merry little christmas" :)

This is beautiful, but beyond my capabilities. I’m working on your “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.” That’s also a beauty and easier for me.
@proguitarofficial3 жыл бұрын
Yes this arrangement is extra tricky, but I suggest trying it without the intro - the intro part is the most tricky part!

Can you arrange and play your version of Beatles “man on the hill”

Just starting in on the video. 2 initial comments: love the "Lenny Breau" vibes from the harp harmonics! The tone is great. Could you do a video on applying your acrylic nails? I see you have a 1 minute video mentioning them and how you file them, but a how-to on what you buy and how you apply it would be really interesting.

Good idea!! I’ll think about it! I actually go to a saloon to do it so I might just bring a camera there!😆

Thanks for the great lesson Emile! :) That Amaj7 chord for the harmonics always gets me - really difficult to keep all strings ringing! Any tips on technique to get it right? :)
@proguitarofficial2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Wayne! The guitar and the string action is very important when it comes to fretting two notes with one finger like that. Make sure you have a good setup on your guitar (preferably low string action), as well as a guitar that doesn't have a big neck. When you have too much space between the strings, it can be really tricky to grab that chord. But even if you have a good setup - it can still be difficult to make it sound good. I recommend practicing it a little bit every day, instead of just doing it for a long time once. Practice that chord for 5 minutes every day for a week, and I'm pretty sure you'll make progress! Kind regards/E

@@proguitarofficial OH that is brilliant! Thanks so much for such a detailed response - its going to save me from a few finger sprains for sure. You are awesome! :)

Emil, how do you choose your chords when developing a song ?
@proguitarofficial3 жыл бұрын
That is a big question Walter, and I don't think I can sum it all up in a text here, but if you're really interested in this topic - please check out our lesson "Arranging for Fingerstyle Guitar" on our site where I go through all the steps on how I go about arranging. Have a great day! Kind regards/Emil

Thanks for the great video Emil! Can I ask what strings you are using? Haven't seen ball end nylon strings in a while.
@proguitarofficial3 жыл бұрын
I use daddario steel strings phosphor bronze 12-53 but I change the high e string (12) to a 14.
