It was women of, and married to, of Irish decent. If you do your research you'll find, it was the lack of paycheck monies, not being brought home, for the families. A gigantic reason, was the Irish, and the abuse's, that went on.

Prohibition was as stupid then as Defund The Police is now. Communities that were pressured and embarrassed and shamed into reducing the funding of their police departments since 2020 have experienced, you guessed it, a rise in murder rates and a rise in rape crimes. Just like Prohibition, Defund The Police benefits criminals and only criminals.
