Imo, the CT rando isn't really good. Randomizers are at their best with Zelda where you can go anywhere at any time. RPG's you're still locked to following the story, but slightly different.

I did a FF6 randomizer, and it randomized all the characters and enemy abilities, even giving characters abilities they may not normally get on any character. Lead to some fun changes of strategy and play. And Pokemon randomizers are also fun for nuzlock reasons, so each works differently, although I agree, Zelda I pry love the most

@@Sage8981 I feel like it's not just a matter of being free to go anywhere, but also having roadblocks set by acquiring things, rather than just being a high enough level. Very few conventional RPGs have item-based progression like Zelda and Metroid, so it's more about just getting strong enough to progress through certain areas than it is about finding that one crucial item you need.

honestly i'd like to see more LoZ games in general. i cant remember seeing him play OoT, MM, windwaker, or the gameboy games would be dope! oracle of ages/seasons, link's awakening and minish cap are so underrated imo. i'd prefer gameboy awakening over switch as well.

OoT has an insane amount of checks. If you don't know the game inside out, upside down and backwards, it'll be pretty much impossible. The skulltula tokens alone would make it a pretty bad time

This was such an entertaining randomizer to watch! And the inverted part was something I haven't seen before so that really stood out from the other alttp randomizers I've watched. My only wish was that after beating ganon and walking into triforce room instead of the triforce, you get 10 arrows .

I wonder if there's an LttP hack that's just pure malice. Not in a Kaizo Mario kind of way, but in more of a fun way. Increasing the chance of enemies exploding into bees, withholding the sword and bow for as long as possible to force people to get creative with their other items, and of course, 10 arrows placed in all the worst spots. In fact, the ideal would be if one could make it seem like a specific item was obtained, only for it to turn into 10 arrows in a puff of smoke. Lifting you up just to send you crashing back down. I'd do it myself, but my brief dabbling with rom hacks had me quickly losing patience. I guess I've been spoiled by Unity. And recreating the entirety of LttP in Unity would be way more effort than it's worth. At that point one might as well make their own original game. It's annoying because I keep getting the itch to do some manner of LttP hack (one idea I keep playing with is a more RPG-centric one with classes and levelling and stuff), but every time I tell myself that it's not worth it and I have more important things to worry about.

One thing you could try is the "keysanity" for the Link to the past/Super Metroid randomizer. Keys get randomized all over both games and it add a few more gates to open with Super Metroid. One of the hardest randomizer run I've ever did but also very fun. It really pushes your knowledge of both games to the limit.
