I really agree with you. As I followed your One Gun project, I had selected a G19 Gen 5 back in April 2018 and put 4200 rounds and shot the snot out of it. Not nearly as many rounds as you. Trained and practiced exclusively with it. I bought a second G19 Gen 5 as my primary carry gun. Will continue to shoot and train with my first G19. My results are a G19 that has had absolutely no failures (I use only factory ammo since I don’t hand load) and my shot accuracy at 10-20 yards has significantly improved. I try to do 20 minutes each morning of dry fire drills and drawing from concealment with this gun as well. Basically, this first G19 is my primary range and training gun. This project has simplified my shooting hobby. I have sold off a bunch of guns and kept two G19’s, a G17 Gen 5 and a couple S&W Revolvers. Rather then buying more guns right now, spend money on ammunition and training only. I do want to try competition with the G17 in 2019. Thanks for your insightful gun reviews as I think your channel has become one of my favorites.

Great to hear it’s been running good for you. I just picked up G19 Gen 5 MOS and I’m liking it with a Vortex Venom mounted on it.

Was a great series and fun to follow. Been shooting Glocks since I got my first one back in the early 90's. Was going to try something like this back about 6-7 years ago. Was going to get a Glock 17 and only shoot it for some time. Plans got changed when I got hurt at work and had to go thru all the he-- that brings. Was fun to follow your journey.

This was an awesome series. You should do it with another gun of comparable size and see how it performs. Imo the 509 midsize or p10c would be ideal contenders.

Loved following this series man. Thanks for the content. Did you change any parts at all the entire time?
@jhelmsing6 жыл бұрын
Zero parts changes except for the sights. It came with plastic sights that lasted one range session.

I totally agree with you on how to many guns philosophy . I used to bring too many to the range . It was screwing up my shooting and then had to go and clean them now a bring a range type gun to really shoot and then put a few magazine's through my carry . Mostly range gun M&P M2.0 , carry Shield 2.0 . Both 9mm . Good video 👍.
@guardianminifarm80056 жыл бұрын
Yes sir....I too, am guilty of taking more firearms than needed to the range. I too carry The M&P40 full size 2.0 & the 1.0 M&P40c .... & have the Shield45 deep carry on occasion. 👍

Very good series. Outstanding info & content. We sure appreciate your approach. We learned quite a bit. Lots of food for thought. Did you decide to continue carrying this Glock or rotate it out. I missed that if it was in the series. If it is not the primary carry, what will be. Thank you again.

Can you do the same experiment with your P320 compact? It would be a great comparison to the g19

Awesome series! So with this done, if you could only chose one to carry would it be the P320 or this G19 Gen5?

Are you going to do a review between the 19 gen 5 and the sig x carry. And which you prefer?
@FierceMouse4 жыл бұрын
Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I feel guilty if I go to the range and not use my carry gun. I have about 12000 rounds in my Gen4. I have replaced all the springs at the 10,000 mark and I thought I was improving the trigger with all the use.

I have a gen 3 g19 and i should know a lot more than i do, but my 19 is very well taken care of and i havent put more than 1k rounds through it despite having it for 18 years. I really dont know the difference between the gens other than barrel, grip, and mag changes. My question is should my gen 3 be this durable and last like this? I plan to start getting to the range regularly and just picked up a 19x and am getting a 43x soon
@jhelmsing5 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. In my testing just about all Glocks, especially 9mm will take some heavy mileage!
@vcutrader70794 жыл бұрын
How much does it typically cost you to reload 9mm per round? Any updates on the project 1 Gun round count? Hope you are doing good - huge fan of the channel
@humbertogutierrez93005 жыл бұрын
Do you have have 2 gen 5 19's? I noticed the first Glock didn't have the beveled frame to match the slide and this one does.
@jhelmsing5 жыл бұрын
I bought two when I started this project and ended up only using the one I put the rounds through. Never needed the back-up.
@humbertogutierrez93005 жыл бұрын
J Helmsing Glock very durable as advertised, I've seen a couple of posts complaining about the finish wearing prematurely on the barrel compared to gen 4, even when the first 100 rounds.ive also heard about the finish flaking off the slide.
