I think everyone's experience with felt recoil is unique. A 300 plus pound man with huge hands and arms attaches much more weight to any handgun when he clamps down on the grip than say a 160 man like myself. I added a Legion grip to my 320 slide for USPSA. Huge difference in felt recoil, muzzle flip and reduced time to second shot and or fully recovered dot. Also, tighter rapid fire groups.

Your conclusions are spot on about this model and Sig in general. And Sig does in fact create there on problems. K

I just bought my X-5 legion a couple of days ago. Mine doesn’t have that hole or notch on the barrel you talked about. You said that the blow back might cloud up your optics. Sig might have seen your video and fixed the problem.

The heavier gun dampening high frequency movements when running and gunning. The physics is pretty straight forward
@jackomalley36875 жыл бұрын
Great review! You have really touched on issues most other reviewers have missed. I was disappointed because slow fire, their is undesirable trigger creep which makes for tight groups difficult. And you are absolutely right it is not the most flattest shooting gun but it is soft shooting. The other thing I noticed, the barrel on both the original X5 and the Legion, the slide on the original is tighter tolorence and the barrel locks up much tighter. Sig told me they loosened the barrel lockup because they found it makes no difference in accuracy because theirs locks up in 5 points

Thanks for the in-depth analysis J with both subjective and objective observations. Too bad about the PVD finish. Alot of the other Talking Heads in the gun review community talk about the PVD finish as if it were a positive thing. I'm one of those guys who cleans his gun right after every day at the range. I like my equipment to be in Tip-Top shape including my leather. I also not one that will throw his gun into his locker and instead I place it in just like it was life-saving equipment. Do you know of anyone using any other type of coating like sodium nitride for longevity of the firearm? Do you know what that would cost? Or if it would be worth it if I intend to keep the gun for 10 or 20 years? I still have my heavily customized Smith & Wesson model 15 from 1983 that I carried in Patrol. It used to be beautifully blued and because of my move to a far more humid environment, I made the mistake of getting it cerakoted to keep it from rusting since I don't carry it everyday any anymore. That's the same concern I have for my PVD finished Sig Sauer's. Thoughts?

Modularity was a cool catchword for the military when selecting a new firearm. Our armorers do not have any different size grip modules for different hand sizes, and if a guy replaces a grip module on their own, the unit loses its sh*t. The leadership has no understanding that it's a user-level change.

The modularity has nothing to do with replacing broken parts it has everything to do with people of different hand size and being able to accommodate them
@John_Malloy2 жыл бұрын
Now in 2022, I think it is safe to say he was wrong about the modularity concept.
@cyclicrate8345 жыл бұрын
Sooo, you DO actually use the P320 modularity. You have an X-Five grip module on your duty pistol, and unless your department ordered your 320 that way you ARE taking advantage of the modularity...
@jhelmsing5 жыл бұрын
Perhaps, but I could very easily do without it. I use a X-Five grip on my duty gun mostly for the improved magwell. The entire concept is a sales gimmick.
@cyclicrate8345 жыл бұрын
@@jhelmsing I agree with you as it pertains to the military, however, I don't see it as a gimmick, for the civilian market. I have swapped grip modules several times on my X-carry, I have a full length 17 round and a compact 15 round module for it. The modularity allows you a lot of flexibility with one trigger pack to have multiple slide/barrel lengths and grip lengths for less money than buying full firearms.

Thank you for pointing out that Sig makes little changes here and there over time and never tell anyone about it or even attempt to standardize their line ups Eventually what youll find years down the road is that everything is discontinued and the one part you need to make your gun work wont be available or you cant find the specific iteration of that part and it just wont be a pretty sight For example, certain P320 slides are capable of cowitnessing red dot sights, some are not, some are fit to fit certain models of red dots while others arent and some do not cowitness at all and require removal of the entire rear sight plate (which will be lost over time inevitably, good luck finding a replacement) This is not documented or shown clearly or easily anywhere and you have to figure it out for yourself based on pictures, research, and reviews such as this one and Sig is nowhere to be found explaining why this is or why they chose to go that route It is immensely frustrating and while I cannot 100% attribute malice or greed to this, there are times it certainly feels that way EDIT: As another note, the tungsten frame is also the only frame size now that is an intermediate size between full size and carry/compact when it comes to the dust cover length. Regular full size frames have full dust cover lengths. Why was this change made? Why make it ever so slightly shorter but not carry/compact dust cover length?? Baffling
@poopscoopproductions31774 жыл бұрын
The dust cover length on the tungsten grip module is designed to be “full-length” with the 4.7 inch barrel version of the P320. In short, it is an effort to increase “modularity” across the P320 lineup
