Project 2006 SLR Honda CR250 2 Stroke - Dirt Bike Magazine

This episode of PREMIX, we give you an exclusive look at a 2006 Honda CR250R built by the SLR Honda off-road team for Ricky Dietrich to race at this year’s Two-Stroke World Championship.Pro Circuit and Hinson Racing go together like peanut butter and jelly on older Honda two-stroke builds. The top-end was modified by legendary two-stroke engine builder Terry Varner and ran strictly on race gas. Ricky got the holeshot in moto two so you know it’s fast. A V-Force reed block would help in the performance department as well.AHM rebuilt a set of stock wheels, adding some Cerakote to the hubs, new spokes and a set of DID Dirtstar black rims. STI Tech-2 Pro tires provided some much needed traction.

yet it’s bad for business, MxA put out figures last year in 1978 over 1 million new dirtbikes sold in the USA in 2018 60,000 doesn’t seem good business model to me!

Varner worked some magic for sure, Most people prefer the 01 cylinder induction, mechanical power valve engine. The 01 engine made the same peak hp as the 07 but it made more hp throughout most of the powerband especially at high RPM,

Jeff All bro i have a 2000/01 and restored 12 and the 00/01 make way more on the bottom.... it has a bottom end the 02 and up dont. also the 01 doesnt rev to 12k like the 05 it makes peak hp quicker and has more bottom end.

The 01 will never handle like the new generation....they are light years better...after varner got it to run right the o1 has nothing on mine.

Daniel Relph motocross action gave it third in 04 from quote having no bottom end and being a dog... my 01 engine doesnt need Varner to make it fast lmao thats my point then after you have him do all this shit reliability goes to shit compared to mine and it comes with a strong bottom end. they took a step backwards in terms of engine but the bike handled way better hence why i have a 2004 chassis 2001 engine

Much prefer the older cr power plants ive owned a 99' an 01 and an 07 the difference in response and bottom end power is very noticeable with the earlier power plants responding much better to basic mods.

If you think this is the bees knees Go check out Cameron Niemela KZbin channel he is building probably the greatest Cr250.. notice in the last 6months a lot of young KZbinrs are building cr 125s and 250s well they are copying his tutorial vids on how to rebuild Cr250 they have almost copied his build bolt for bolt except Cameron's CR is the OG dripping in carbon fibre and aftermarket parts and he has added his own touch on absolutely EVERYTHING.. This Cr is nice as fuck but Cameron's is on another level

That 4 stroke in the back ground was annoying. Honda doesn't make two strokes anymore. Because they make millions and millions off of people buying new top and bottom S every week. 4 strokes blow up way too easy. And when they do it's very expensive. Thx for the video.
