I thought I was the only crazy one that was taking these things apart. The interior was also bothering me. I took The interior out of a 1974 dodge Monaco diecast and resin casted It To get the correct police package bench seat.I also changed the wheels to the correct four slotted earlier type that Chrysler used in 1975,76 and 77.I took mine down to bare metal also and had to do a lot of priming and filling because the metal has lots of scratches in it.I’m doing a two-tone paint job on mine and I wound up ruining it when I put my clearcoat on it so I’m doing the whole thing over again. I love these things because like you it reminds me a lot of the cars that were traveling around when I was growing up. I love the tip about using the sharpies for the marker lights I never thought of that. The decals are the next problem because no one really makes 1/18 scale decals. I solved that by making my own with my ink jet printer.I also painted the interior like you did because the color that Greenlight uses is ridiculous. I enjoyed your video thank you for posting it.

I've restored a few cars like this, and as for the dash, drill out the round gauges, glue clear plastic behind them, and then glue the gauge decals behind that,...works out great!!

Can you take the headlights from the 77 model and put them on the 75 model cars where there is just one big round light? They make a 75 CHP coronet but I want it to look like a monaco with the 4 headlight system and wonder if it will just snap right in.

Yes just have to also take off the whole front end too
@jamesjonathanbrowne95284 жыл бұрын
Okay so the whole front end of the Coronet matches up with the front end of the Monaco?

I was wondering if the license plates come off and what you would suggest if I wanted to make a custom plate as far as installing them on the car goes.
@Migs_Models4 жыл бұрын
You can order 1/18 scale plates online or eBay or make your own on your computer

@@Migs_Models Okay, I just wanted to verify that the existing plates DO come off.

exactly why i don't buy from Greenlight ugly cheap models..but one beautiful one i have is a 1975' Dodge Monaco the Navy Blue & Silver Nevada HW State patrol squad car that i had bought from Hot Pursuit looks realistic just like it did in the 70s when they had it out on the road. i had the choice of either the B&W or the silver & blue navy blue is my favorite color it looked gorgeous so i chose that one instead. i want to find the 77 dodge monaco with the flat rounded barlights ontop & in B&W just like the Terminator 1 movie model but i want the one with the on & off lights switch thats found under the back end under the rear bumper hard to find it out there even on ebay.

@@Migs_Models I owned an Ex CHP 77 Monaco. Are you ready for this?: It was painted gold. It had a blue and yellow license plate 594 XXC (the thinner letters) I want to do exactly what you did because I guess the Dukes police car has no model emblem on the side but it's a Fury. Where do you get your cars and supplies from?

question could you remove the wheels from the 1.18 scale greenlight A team van ? what i would like to do is to remove wheels form the greenlight and use the wheels from the hotwheels elite 1.18 scale A team van which look 1000 times better just not sure on both models how to do this
@Migs_Models5 жыл бұрын
You can remove the wheels I believe. The front wheels are on stub type axles I believe but the rear is metal axle like these cars.
