Those 250cid Chevy Mercruisers are great power plants. I’ve got one in my ‘68 Glastron V-204 (like Lyndon Bains Johnson’s boat). 160 HP, and just SIPS fuel.

I just scored a trailer from a 25 berty last year! The new owners spent 18K and a shiny new one, they sold the old one to me for my 24 Savage ranger for 3K with new tires, lights and brakes! Iv been looking for years for a 2nd hand trailer in good nick! Having a trailer come with it is a big win!

I’m real new to boating but after watching the Beast 1 build, I started to get more Bertram’s popping up in KZbin suggestions and I’m starting to really love these things. Beast 2 has me hooked 😁👍 Let’s see if I still feel this way after seeing how much work and how many $$$ it takes to get her ship shape though 🤔🤪🤪 Ps. You really need to work on creating an eye catching thumbnail for the vids 👍 That’ll get you a heap more views.

1970 Bertram 34 with shaft drive and Detroit straight 6 on trailer is 20'000 but very economical

I have seen my mate go through all this, started with a trailer boat then went 25 Berty over $100,000 spent sold $85k,then went 35 Berty and lost count of $'s spent but had a sick set up and we had fuck loads of fun,got to blow your money somehow I spose, better then pissing it up the wall or pokies, lol

Great vid. Wonderful story. BUT. A small dual cab ute towing a 25. You would be, crazy and more than likely not insured when making an at fault claim. A small truck at the very least is required.

What did you guys use to tow this thing? Just bought one myself and worried my 3.5t rig won’t be enough

It probably won’t be mate. We put it in the scales and I think it was 3.7 without any fuel in it.

You curs not sirs ( look it up) need to stop making us wait with salty breath. Give us nothing and then release the whole 4 or 5 part series on a particular boat. It’s like watching your wife put on lingerie and then roll over and go to sleep

The family of engines that these boats ran with came from much later than 1929. These same engines powered all the Checker Cabs and C10 Chev trucks and El Caminos and a myriad of other GM units. Bullet proof. And not from 1929. Go back and check your history before posting such crap. Very loose with facts guys.
