This has got to be the clearest instruction on making a hand plane that I have seen in the 4 days I spent looking on KZbin for one. Awesome job

I just stumbled onto this and found it to be the best I have ever seen about making a wooden hand plane. I just bookmarked it for future reference.

Clear, succinct, complete instructions. After much research I decided to make my first plane while following your instructional video. Absolutely the best presentation I've found on the net. This is what makes You Tube such a great resource. Thank you Brian. I hope you'll be able to continue sharing your expertise. By the way my plane turned out so well I consider it my favorite tool in my shop. Subscribed without hesitation.

Well done! Between your verbal instruction and the close-up video, you have answered most of my questions before I begin my first plane. The best video I have seen covering the basic techniques. I feel much more confident about beginning my own project. Many Thanks!

Im getting ready to make my first hand plane, so I have been watching a ton of videos. I have to say, your instruction is by far the easiest to understand and informative. I really enjoyed how you incorporated the why something is done behind the instruction. Thank you again very much for doing and sharing this. Dave.

Hi Brian ,thank you for the very explicit instructions on making the plane. I could not have done it without them. I had an iron from a Japanese pull plane which I used ,and the body was made from oak with a teak sole. It works fantastically well and looks nice too. I would like to post a picture of it, but I don't know how. Again thank you so much, Ralph.

Hey Brian, I think you should put an ad out locally to see if you can enlist some students for something like this, I think you would make a great instructor. You have a great way of explaining things clearly. I lack that and that is why I just try to have some fun with my channel. Great videos sir!!

BearKat Wood thanks man, I appreciate that. I would love to put a class together one day. Sorry for the late reply, I’m just figuring out how KZbin’s comments and functions work. Lol

Loved it - although I started to get nervous when you were talking about using the jointer on the bottom. It was nice seeing you using just the surface and sandpaper to flatten it out. I don't have a jointer yet!

How did you establish the exact need for the 1 1/4" on the perpendicular line up from the plane bottom for the location of the cross pin??

Brian, excellent video. Is that a Foremost jointer? I have one too. Any info on getting blades? I'm really new to all of this.
@ronin471110 жыл бұрын
If I understand right, the new plane is to replace the "old" one, did you tossed it away or still using it, what was wrong with it? Looked OK to me.

This video is great! Is this blade from Lee Valley? Which one is it?
@Learnwoodwork10 жыл бұрын
Yes it is from lee valley, its the 1 1/2' blade and chip breaker made by hock tools.
