Project GT40 Episode 1 - Removing the front suspension

The first thing you should do on a kit car build is take everything apart! I’m getting ready to put truck bed liner on the underside of the chassis for protection. Watch me remove the last of the front suspension.

I love it when people set up their vise on top of a bench and grind stuff with their arms up in the air. Very ergonomic. It get even better when they hammer stuff too.

My favorite car. there is a lot of money there. On an old car magazine they had an article where someone had invested 100k in a reproduction.

I've just found your channel and happily subscribed as a fellow gt40 builder! I noticed your air cups have been fitted up side down due to clearance issues at the top of the damper. I was advised against fitting them as you have done due to how easy it would be to have them gunked up with dirt and road grit over time that would kill the air seals..... is that something you've considered?

I didn't know that they would be upside down. Your right about all the debris collecting and ruining the air bag. Not sure what to do about it. I need the lift to get in and out of my driveway. How do you manage?

After a lot of thought I decided on a LS7 because I had to have at least 500 HP, be all Aluminum, have fuel injection and a dry sump oil system. Mounted low light weight small package very reliable making Big Power and doesn’t cost to much!😊
