This looks sweet! I just got the futuristic soldier pack from the UE4 marketplace... How did you manage to make it into an inventory system? Like adding a helmet/armor, etc.? Did you change the actual character mesh? or just add clothing?

In folder with character, you have a skeletal asset's helmet, armor, and more. I export assets, and in blender create Static Meshes, for spawn in world. And, sinc skeletal meshe my character.

Wouldn't it be easier to duplicate the skeletal mesh and turn it into a static mesh within the engine? I don't think you have to export at all, unless you modified it beyond that.
