= Matchmaking =
Game Modes
- Random Draft has replaced Single Draft in the Mid Wars matchmaking options.
= Map (Mid Wars) =
* Many thanks to HON OMG for the amazing new map design!
Merrick’s Rune
- Gold reward changed from 35 + 2 Gold per minute to 100 Gold.
- Gold is now granted to every player on the team (500 Total Gold).
+ Rewards teams for being active and encourages frequent battles beyond the tower.
- Rune spawns every minute at 30 seconds instead of 15 seconds.
- Rune no longer floats down the river and has improved visual effects.
+ Alternates with major rune spawn each minute for improved game tempo.

Boss Location
- Transmutanstein and Zorgath moved closer to the lane to encourage contested battles.
+ Balances the risk and reward of the objective and makes it a focal point for team fights.

Terrain Balance
- Areas have been reshaped to provide both teams with similar access and escape routes.
= Heroes (Mid Wars) =
* The single-lane format of Mid Wars naturally creates unbalanced interactions. This update modifies some of the strongest abilities and items while limiting the differences between maps.
Accursed
Cauterize [Q]
- Cooldown increased from 6s to 9s in Mid Wars.
+ Lowers healing output on a map where allies are reliably damaged and nearby.
Fire Shield [W]
- Does not remove Stuns but still removes Debuffs in Mid Wars.
+ Reduces overprotection for top hero on a map with frequent close-quarters battles.

Storm Cloud [R]
- Armor buff and debuff reduced from 10/17/24 to 5/8/11 in Mid Wars.
+ Limits consistent armor impact on the many teamfights and pushes of a condensed map.

Cadaver Armor [E]
- Strength per nearby hero death reduced from 1/1.5/2/2.5 to 0.5/0.75/1/1.25 in Mid Wars.
+ Balances permanent stat gain for a map that guarantees constant nearby hero deaths.

Dead Eye [E]
- Attack Range bonus reduced from 75/150/225/300 to 50/100/150/200 in Mid Wars.
+ Reduces excessive range with the single-lane format offering increased tower safety.

Acid Bomb [W]
- Trail of acid does not apply 1/2/3/4 Armor Reduction in Mid Wars.
+ Prevents excessive physical armor impact with acid covering most of the lane.

Soothing Presence [E]
- Health regen per nearby ally reduced from 1/1.4/1.8/2.2 to 0.5/1/1.5/2 in Mid Wars.
+ Rescales constant healing output on a map where allies stay grouped up.

Chain Lightning [Q]
- Cooldown increased from 2s to 4s in Mid Wars.
+ Limits spam with reliable bounces on a map that forces enemies close together.

- Effect now plays a different random Taunt!

Homecoming Stone
- Automatically added to inventory with unlimited charges.
- Cooldown reduced from 80 seconds to 60 seconds in Mid Wars.
+ Allows players a quicker return to lane for extended battles.

- Item disabled and cannot be purchased in Mid Wars.
+ Removes unbalanced interactions enabled by extended range in a single lane.

Spell Sunder
- Magic Damage reduced from 4% to 2% health per second in Mid Wars.
+ Limits low-cooldown AoE harass but still reduces HP regen to counter tanks.

chi rework. he one-hits every carry in existence. maybe magic immune heroes halves the damage he deals (shrunken heads) also, fix your DC condition. "Your team mates have abandoned you. The match will continue, but you are now free to leave without increasing your Leaver %." doesnt work if you just get reconnected when you attempted to requeue after you dc an unwinnable match

It wasn't possible last time I tried, but that was some time ago. If someone has good news, then I want to hear about it as well. I moved to League of Legends after HoN went down, but LoL on Linux is about to get discontinued due to a new anti-cheat system. It might be a good opportunity to get some players. LoL and HoN are pretty different, but they both share the fast paced action we lack in Dota 2.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one, but I'm not pleased with these changes. The new map looks nice, I can get behind that one. But changing Single Draft just kills it for me. Im pretty sure it was the more popular than Banning pick, and they still changed it for some reason. Merricks rune change is awful, the team with the more powerful setup is going to dominate the rune and get a huge gold adventage without any effort. Also benefits team queue-ing over solo queue, because team queue will aways communicate better. Demented shaman ult nerf makes no sense, literally last patch they buffed unbreakable. Why not revoke that change? Devo nerf also makes no sense. If you want to nerf hooking heroes, might as well nerf all hooks. Homecoming stone change promotes lazy people who didnt buy the TP for themselves. Making the game easier makes it less fun. Jade Spide removal, really? Oh no, Jade Spire is finally useful in a game mode, lets remove it quickly!!!!!!4!!! Spell Sunder nerf makes sense at least. The other changes which I didnt mention are also understandable.
