I’m absolutely loving the stories by the month kits this year in fact, I had unsubscribed in December and then saw January and loved it and then ended up resubscribing in February because I loved it so much and I’ve loved both February and March so much this year. I finally feel like it’s different than what it has been in the past… I tried looking for a couple other subscriptions to try something different in December because I thought maybe I was getting burnt out on Ali Edward items but I came back and I’m loving it… There’s just not anything out there on the market that I’m finding that I love

I am 100% with you on your assessment of the STBM kits. I have been saying this in the surveys they send out for years! Everything feels so repetitive... like whoever is designing them is just dialing it in. I'm so tired of card designs being re-used. Also - I hate that the font choices are so random. My preference would be that they have some kind of consistency in mind throughout the series/year. But it just all feels so haphazard. I don't know if multiple people are designing and not talking to each other or what. But it's so frustrating. And I am not a fan of the speech bubbles! I don't understand why they can't get a little more creative with the card content... even more general cards can be less repetitive. Heck - I would be happy to provide a set of unique phrases they could use instead of the same ones over and over again. I will likely be canceling both my STBM and my SK subscriptions in the next month or so if there isn't a change. I spend a boatload of money every month - and I have to say that for the last couple of years there have only been a handful of kits I've been excited about.

Lynne, thank you for your honest and thoughtful response - I agree with you. I understand it can be hard to design for everyone, but hopefully we'll see a difference in the kits going forward.

I am still doing a photo and journaling every day as part of my grief journey. But after listening to you, I decided once a month to do Day in the Life. Photos about my day, and very little journaling. I'm looking forward to something different this year.

This was a wonderful, informative vid. Lots of great info on your process. Love your focus on photos and clean layouts. Appreciate your honest opinion. Been over speech bubbles for awhile and don't understand the continued interest, I never used. I love your amazing photographs, especially ones where you're experimenting with lights right now - keep going! Thank you!

I’ve always found the speech bubbles awkward to use. I cut off the tails, tuck the tail under an embellishment, etc. Very tired of seeing them still pop up so often.

Thanks Tara. I've been using Photoshop for over 20 years. With any software, there is always a learning curve. Adobe does have great resources/tutorials online and there are also some other creators on YT who have great videos. Happy to send some your way if you're interested.

Always love watching your videos Kasha and I have to say that I’m with you concerning the SBTM, I re subscribed because I return to physical this year and man I was so happy when they said there would be more cards and no stamps and papers ( I don’t use them) but when I saw the designs 😢 well it’s over used digitals from Ali. So bummed

Not a fan of speech bubbles. I signed up for SBTM on a month to month basis (I don’t know why, I have 1000s of PL cards and I love making my own) but something about the bright colors got to me. I think I will keep up with it so that my album for this year has a cohesive look ( I have issues, what can I say?). I was thinking not using all the cards was a waste, and then I thought, why not use them in my granddaughters’ PL journals too? that way hopefully, I will stay motivated and USE MY SUPPLIES UP! Ask me about my year’s worth of Felicity Jane subscriptions that I fondle but never jump in to using…lol. Great videos and great inspiration Kasha.

I personally really like the colours and the oval chipboard a lot but i HATE speechbubbles too and to be honest, i dont find the designs very interesting either. The only reason I would like the kit is for its vellum and the chipboard. And as I live in Germany, with the tax and everything it is so expensive so that’s not gonna happen. I only by a kit if I am obsessed with it, and that hasn’t been the case for a few months now.
