Love how you tackled the journaling on the journaling cards. I tend to shy away from that style of card because I do all typed journaling and it's too hard to format the journaling on those journaling cards with the stripes. Great reminder to just print the journaling on a block and adhere over the stripes!

Beautiful spread! So sorry to hear about your mom. My mother has Alzheimer’s too. She’s been in a swift decline lately. It’s just heartbreaking. Definitely why I tell my stories too. ❤

Thanks for the font name! And I'm in agreement with you on the kits this year. Different. I'm having trouble using the vellum - when I do I put white cardstock behind it. I have used some of the vellum pieces stapled on top of the page protector and as a flip-up. But the colors this year have certainly been different. I appreciate Lisa for designing all of them, but I also pull from my stash and am sad that they do not coordinate with each other. Great layout - again love hearing your thought process.

I really like how you pulled this one together - I love hearing your thought process and how you change the cards in photoshop to meet your needs/thoughts. The colors/prints in the filler spots worked perfectly. Very nice!

I wasn’t fond of the mini kit so I didn’t get it this year. I am sad we won’t get to see you creating (I got a lot of ideas from your pages), but I completely understand and would feel the same with having a new little one.

thanks for sharing! I also think constructive feedback is valuable so that hopefully things change. personally I am hoping they tone down on the use of gold. it's on like every item and it feels a bit over the top this year (especially on colours that do not suit gold - yech). also, not every kit needs or suits yellow. bring back white! anyways lol. I always fill out the annual feedback form as I'm hoping someone reads it..

I had all the days of the week but was missing the third September stories tag 😳. This year I’m getting the SBTM Kit - I haven’t gotten these for a while and I do have a few years to go back and complete so the repeating month pieces don’t bother as much as they normally would. I stopped subbing to the story kits for exactly that reason though. The repetition of the theme on cards, chipboard and embellishments annoyed me. I just kept thinking “why do we have to see the word over and over? Can’t they use a thesaurus and change things up a little?” Thanks for sharing your pages and for your honest reviews!

Thank you for sharing Olivia's album. I know you weren't sure if you'd keep sharing your PL process, or anything about her or her story album, but I'm glad you've continued sharing. Honestly, I appreciate you being true to yourself and expressing your opinion on the products, too many people point out or only use their favourites and don't say anything negative, which is fine, but if more people talked about what they didn't like, maybe things would change. I know she said something somewhere about the die-cut packs for the SBTM kits being different next year, possibly because people shared their dislike of the repeated shapes every couple of months. I understand it's not easy to create brand-new designs for all the different kits/projects they have going on, but the SBTM kits have very little that's new in them, and it's disappointing. Maybe when she reveals all the new kits for next year I'll consider resubscribing to the SBTM kits, but I'm also anxious to see the changes to the Story Kit and Story Stamp subscriptions she mentioned.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - I appreciate that you speak your mind. Nobody can like everything, I'm always slightly suspicious of uncritical fawning. And to be honest I'm getting more tired with every AE project shared by others on social media, it all looks so same-y. Just to clarify, it's the layouts that bore me, not the actual project. Personally, the kits have too much handwriting for my taste, so I would never subscribe. Still, I like that you try to make the best of it and love your pages.

It turned out beautiful with the 3 tags that go perfectly with the title card :) Your daughter is so adorable! I have the same Pink album, so pretty. I also am doing 12x12 next year. I found 2 albums at Hobby Lobby and I am glad that the Becky Higgins Design A are still available !

I tried 10x8 for 2 years but I think 6x8 fits my style better. Got the main kit, scalloped plastic pieces and specialty journal card set. Always fun! This is my 10th year. I am doing DD in a 6x8 album. I didn’t get the main kit but bought plenty other items from AE, in addition I’ll use products from other makers and my stash. I like watching your process videos but they would be time consuming, that’s why I just do flip throughs. If I did process videos I’d never get any scrapping done😂.

Love the result with the big letters ! I really hope you continue to share :) I am doing 10x8 this year again. I will finish last year's album first, probably in November. I went up to Story 18. I bought a lot this year ! I was surprised because normally, I don't like Blue and Yellow as Christmas colors, but I don't know, I really like the kit this year ! I purchased the main kit, the 10x8 papers, some embellishments and the Tree album (planning to use it for camping trips). I am not a stamp user so no stamps for me. I was hesitating on the 10x8 transparencies but I think I have enough. I am hoping to finish my 2024 album this year though !

I'm doing DD for the 4th year, I think it will be. I bought a Little Golden Book titled "Mickey Mouse Flies the Christmas Mail" because my husband was a mail carrier. I will fix it up into a junk journal style. I need to buy some vintage mail paper, but otherwise I will work from my stash. Kind of excited to work on this.

I’m doing December daily for the first time this year. I had my daughter in July and I want to document her first Christmas 😊. Size 6x8. I wanted to do the 4x6 from Ali Edwards until I saw it was a vertical orientation and not horizontal.

I’m interested to know if you are making a baby’s first year album? Or how you are documenting that.

I’m from Europe - I don’t mind the American stuff - I can make them work in other times and projects… but I hate the colors lately and the way too big embellishments both chipboard and cardstock! And way too much repetition… I’ve loved the soft and pastel colors of the June kits in earlier years. If colors and new designs don’t change for next year I’ll cancel my subscription too. But I can’t now because of the monthly title cards. But maybe switch to digital only … there is way more stuff in the kits than the years before, but there’s so much too I won’t ever use. Especially those big big embellishments…

Love it! Great balance of colors. I agree that kit was so patriotic but I was able to use a lot of it.

As a South African, it was enough for me to cancel my subscription. Too American and not enough for me to actually work with. Sadly.

I wanted to know if you order your page protectors from Amazon or Becky Higgins ? They look like the right size, the ones I have are smaller so I have to cut every single photo and it is driving me nuts ! 😅

I felt the same way when I opened the kit. I am from Canada so I did not really use the cards that felt really "4th of July" ! I don't like all the colors together either. The Orange with Red is a big no for me. However I did manage to make beautiful layouts with some of the kit. I ended up cutting the quote on the Blue card and using it on a photo. Also I used the number cards with journaling on top and a photo under them. Lovely spread Kasha !!
