I'm using Discord as a (PMIS), I mean... it is goddamn free. On the other hand, it is flexible in the manner of structuring. You can create many categories, and inside each category, you can create many chats or even Forums, and inside each forum, you can create many posts! I mean you gotta try it. So I can update each project document in a specific space that is easy to access and completely independent so it doesn't get lost in the chat. Also specific chats for each specific topic so the ideas and scopes stay at where they should be. + I'm wondering... Do you as PMC Lounge have a PMIS platform or something?

For the the documents, I use Canva or Excel or even external PMIS to do the math and the design and then after converting them to PDF files, I post them on Discord based on where they should be posted so all stakeholders can stay aware and updated. Another cool thing about Discord servers is that... you can chose who can see or modify a specific chat or forum or channel. Cuz you know some stakeholders should be informed only with high-level information and not the detailed stuff. So they don't get lost in the PMIS.

Excellent! Thanks for sharing your experience. So good to know this. While PMC Lounge does not have an exclusive PMIS of our own, our most utilized PMIS is Trello to manage our content, website (pmclounge.com), Udemy & Skillshare premium courses and ofcourse our KZbin channel.

Hi Shoaib, I have just starting preparing for PMP. I still couldn't understand why PMIS is not an OPA.. Please shed some light on this
@kennethnyongesa44234 жыл бұрын
It is external & developed externally not within the performing organisation e.g. software for use within the organisation is normally sourced / procured from supplier / vendor

OPA are the assets of the organization While PMIS is the infrastructure . The infrastructure belongs to the EEF.

What is the different between PMIS and ERP
@pmclounge3 жыл бұрын
A PMIS is typically one or more software applications and a methodical process for collecting and using project information. An ERP might serve entire organization and non-project stakeholders too

PMIS is a S/W tools specialized in the PM while ERP is a tools for other business areas through the enterprise like HR , Finance , Sales , Training , Manufacturing .......etc.
