I planned to blackout my chrome trim around the mirrors with matte black to match the plastidipped emblems. I think I'm liking this better. Might have to do gloss black for the chrome trim now.

Trueminati - I wouldn’t say hard. Buts it tedious to take apart the whole trunk lid and 2/3’s of the front grill just to remove tiny pins that hold it on. The likelihood of you breaking the pins during the disassemble is high so I went the shorter route. Then used automotive 3M tape to get it back together.

I Rod72 - 3M double sided tape. $6 a roll and I’ll have enough to put my wing back on when I remove the sport spoiler, wrap the trunk to cover the holes and apply the duckbill. 🤙🏽

ginganinja - The spring install on this car was the easiest I’ve ever done. You need like 4 tools and an hour time. Rear took me 5 minutes per side.

Yes you can. Just mask off a 2” square/border around the lettering and cover the rest of the rear end with plastic sheets from Home Depot. Then spray that square with the letter in it. Make sure you spray at least 5-6 coats, when your done and it’s time to peel off the access material it’ll come off nice and easy since you sprayed thick coats. 👌🏽

They are held in place with plastic pins. I just snapped the pins and they were off. They are made to NOT come off, so going through the process of taking everything apart just to find out you’ll need to clip those pins anyways was a waste of time. I used a pick tool to lift the emblem from the body of the car and from there I just hooked my finger around the emblem and lightly pulled. 3M tape has held up nicely after repeated washes and desert sun. 🤙🏽

I just tried this out & it didn't look like zi thought it would. Yours looks like black shiny glass. Is that because the camera is not capturing the true look/texture of it? Mine looks very textured & not like shiny glass at all. Is that how it's supposed to be?

What brand did you go with? Mine was shiny and smooth. You couldn’t really tell it was vinyl, but depending on the vinyl they use it could be very textured.

Yeah I did. Then used automotive double sided tape to adhere again. It’s takes about 45 minutes to take about the front and another 45 minutes to take apart the rear just to remove the emblems without breaking clips. Once you get to them, they have non removable c clips that cause most people to break the pins anyways. So I saved myself time 😂

TL Man - Thanks man! No rubbing at all. The front was actually my worry because the tire was really close after lowering. I simply gave the fender a light tug and they moved a few MM. all clears and they look good. I’ve maxed out the suspension travel and hit bump stops on this twisty road by my house doing 60. Zero tire rubbing. I’m happy with it man.

Personally it was easier for me to remove them, paint them and reapply, then go through the process of masking off around the “H” or just painting that whole area and attempting to peel off piece by piece until everything was off. Just my take on it. I haven’t really tested the paint and it’s ability to peel off objects and I would hate for it to screw up my trunk (probably wouldn’t) or come out looking like a shitty job after investing time and money into the project.

It’s not exactly paint. It’s got a specific cure time that I stuck to but the magic of video editing helped me out.

I used a pick tool to pull them away from the body, enough to hook my finger around the emblem. From there you can pull back towards your body the tiny plastic pins snap off. Unfortunately it’s the only way to remove without spending 30+ minutes disassembling the car to get the same result. Put them back with automotive 3M tape and they are stuck there with no problems.
