Yikes ! Sunken boat, lock in disrepair, shaded mooring and snow ! Hang in there Johnny!

Hiya JL - so sad watching you take your tools off the boat 😢 I know this video was from March and you’re well settled now back in your ‘land house’ but it was great to see you again. I hope you’re in good health and getting your health issues sorted and that you’ve been enjoying pottering about in your garden and doing the diy jobs you wanted to get done in your house. Take care and know that you’re missed 😢

Hi Sheenagh. Yes, bit by bit getting straight one way and another. Tomorrow I'll post the last cruising video, but I do have a few more things up my sleeve so stay tuned!

Hello Johnny, lovely to see you again. Thank you for the great peaceful vlog. Shame about those boats left to fall into disrepair and then foul the canal when they sink. I hope you are keeping well. ☺️🤗X

Hey Diane. I guess that boat was someones little dream on a budget. The waterways can be a cruel mistress.

One more cruise to come, after that I have quite a few ideas for videos I wanted to make but never had the time - all boating related, so stayed tuned!

Hi Johny, It must be a sad time you leaving the boat, but one has to think about the future. Nice cruise. That lock was nasty at the end of the Vlog. Have a great week. Take Care.

I'm settling in "ok" and getting on with things that I need to do. It would have just been too much with the boat as well, right now for me. Yes, very sad, I never imagined last days when I was buying/planning the boat.

Hi JL, yet another good video, quite an emotional moment moving some of your bits from the boat, just another chapter of this thing we call life opening, I hope you will keep us posted now and then, what your doing, take care, Keep safe and well 🚢🚢🚢

Hi Chris, I'm just finishing up the last cruising video, after that I do have quite a few episodes I still want to make, things I never got a chance to do when I was constantly cruising and vlogging!

Hey Robin. All ok here thanks... give or take! I'm wondering how boaters will cope with the impending heatwave we have coming.

When I sold my boat it was amazing how much stuff was tucked away. Thanks for the video.
@ProjectNarrowboat2 жыл бұрын
Tell me about it Carole. I'm currently having a clear out with the help of ebay - which I think is where most of the stuff came from in the first place!

Crikey, snowing and firewoods gone, but you'll have a bit of coal in reserve. I was wondering if you even play music from your past on your vlogs, just listening to todays background pieces got me wondering. Packing stuff into the car, I'd be happy to give a hand, but you've obviously finished by now, and I might take a couple of days to get there. I'm really looking forward to the new life Johny, thanks and take care.

Hi Phillip. All the music in my vlogs comes off the peg from youtube music library - it's free for anyone to use. I have thought about doing a few tracks to up up there for others, at some point. Enjoy your journey - it is wonderful to be at the beginning.

Enjoyed watching, how many Tools , were do you put it all on the boat , if I had a boat I would have shoes and lots of wine Racks, and dogs , all the best Johnny , hope things pan out for you,🙃🍷
@ProjectNarrowboat2 жыл бұрын
Hi Penelope. I had my tools really well organised on shelves in a cupboard that I made up specially - there really was a place for everything which was just as well as I really did use everything regularly throughout the build. I never got as far as a wine rack but had planned to put one under the desk on the back wall in the middle bit, plus racking for some boots too. No dogs required, for me, I'm more of a cat man!

Hi Glyn. Yes exactly. That was the one requirement when I sadly had to replace the Jag (which also was an estate of course). They always come in handy for one thing or another.

Hi Johnny, I bet there are many things you miss about your lovely boat and cruising the canal’s, but I’m guessing doing solo locks and cleaning the cutting out of your way are not some of them. I hear you are going to have high temperatures next week in the UK . Please take care .
@ProjectNarrowboat2 жыл бұрын
Hi Penney. Yes 40c is predicted for Tuesday and they have declared a state of national emergency. It gets particularly hot in a narrowboat so I expect there will be plenty of vlogs about that from the other boaters. It is very different in a building - doesn't get as hot but doesn't cool off so well at night either. It can get a bit tedious doing double locks on your own, no doubt about that. I'm missing it and not missing it - if that makes any sense.

I’m sad for you taking all your stuff off the boat and packing it into the car. It was a big life-change moving back to land and particularly hard since you had put so much work into fitting out the boat.
@ProjectNarrowboat2 жыл бұрын
Yes exactly. If I hadn't put any work into the boat it would have been a lot easier to leave. All very sad but hey I had an incredible adventure, learned a lot and now have another string to my bow that I will hopefully use again.

We remember this part of the canal, we also moored there and did succumb to a yum yum from Gregs while we waited for the spitting water point!! I know your heartache with packing up and moving off the boat.. we have just done the same and my boat is now up for sale on ApolloDuck... hoping you are keeping well.... how is the garden coming along? X
@ProjectNarrowboat2 жыл бұрын
Hey Lynette, I expect your boat will be gone in days - so brace yourself! Why do we do it? I guess things have a time and a place in our lives. Garden ok-ish. I put lawn seed down after a thorough weeding, but the birds ate it it all. I would never have come back ashore if i didn't have a garden to go to.

Always so good to see your sweet face, Johnny. Does CRT ever remove the sunken boats or clean out a lock like that last one? Leigh
@ProjectNarrowboat2 жыл бұрын
Hi Leigh. CRT are usually pretty quick on blockages/problems. But I feel they are not fully back on top of things since covid, which is to be expected I guess. Sunken boats though, seem to hang around a while. I suppose they leave it to the owners unless it is really blocking the navigation. It may be that the owner went away and has a nasty surprise to come back to.

I read the comments and didn’t realise your leaving the boat is that right? Moving into a house? Good luck with it.
